Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special SS (Short Scale):

Very nice short scale bass for the money. Looks good. I tried an active EQ, didn't work out! Got a set of Fender Lace Sensor pickups that should do the trick. Fun to mess with, or just to play.
I build guitars so I don't recommend this for everyone. Just enjoy it if you buy one, it's a nice little bass.

Best Cheap Bass Ever!

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special SS (Short Scale):

This is becomming my favorite everyday bass. It has about the best neck my short fingers ever played. Overall quality is at least a 9 out of 10, much better than a lot of more expensive basses I own. I have the red one & it is very cool, great finish.
Still working on the sounds I can get through my rig with it, but so far so good. Mids & highs are great, If I need a lot of low end, I just use my EB-0 instead. Only thing I'm thinking is a set of light flatwounds, just because I can't stand the finger squeek I get from round wound strings & they don't hurt my old fingers so bad.
For the price, you can't afford not to get one. My only complaint is that there's not a reasonably priced hard case for this or any other short scale bass.
