Good overall
Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass Active V 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
This is a great bass. It sounds and feels great and the price on it is stellar. However my one complaint is that the neck is to wide making it hard to play really fast. Don't get me wrong, I still use this as my primary bass and I love it with all my heart.

For the money, not a bad bass in the least
Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass Active V 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
I've been playing studio sessions on and off for years, and I have experience in bands. I've played the poorest quality starter instrument through the most amazing high end bass. All I have to say about this bass is: Holy moly! Bearing in mind that this is a starter bass, I was very impressed when I played it. For the money, this is a fine bass. It plays well, sounds good, its made of good woods, and I believe the fingerboard to be synthetic from its look and feel. Pickups are lower end, but easily replaceable. The same is true for the onboard preamp. However, this opinion is coming from a studio cat accustomed to studio tone. If you're looking for a good quality active 5-string and you're on a budget, order this bass. I would recommend ordering the black bass and ordering a white pearloid pickguard. Sweet looking!!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass Active V 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
bought this bass for a" beater" go to a lot of jam sesions etc. most people don't want to pick my 7 string conklin up,or play my zeta fretless, so i bought the fender did some set up work and wow for the money you can't beat it. it plays good, sounds good, the finish was very good , no sharp frets, could have saved myself a lot of money had i found this bass yrs ago. buy it, it's a good axe for 90% of the bass players. i've been playing since 1959 lot of yrs on the road. i'm 67 yrs old and still at it. still have the rickenbacker i bought new in 63!

Wide Range and Awesome Looks!
Comments about Squier Deluxe Jazz Bass Active V 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
I purchased this bass about 4 months ago, and have been very happily surprised by its finish, its sound, and overall quality. I am still new to playing bass guitar, although this is my third (Squier Affinity J Bass and early Ibanez SoundGear model CT Bass). The 5-string is much heavier, but well balanced. I'm most impressed by the ability to get many tones from the active electronics. I doubt that this bass will disappoint the most experienced players.
