Good bass, great value...

Comments about Squier Affinity 5-String Jazz Bass V:

I recently went from four to five-string with a MIM Fender Jazz V, and wanted a cheap Jazz V for an office/practice bass. I read how good the deluxe model was, but wanted the cheapest one, and passive without the extra BS. I read some good reviews on this and had my hopes up, and I was quite pleased. It was delivered a few minutes before the guys showed up for band rehearsal, and it was beautiful in every way. I just tuned it up and jammed. Frets, action, joints, paint, neck... everything good, and it wasnt heavy like the deluxe is purported to be probably real close to 9 pounds. Sounded great (although I have a killer rig), and the B string is plenty good. My MIM is the office/practice bass now.

Comments about Squier Affinity 5-String Jazz Bass V:

The only difference between the Fender Standard and this bass is the smaller tuning pegs, and where it was put together. The wood and pickups are the same. This bass needed to be set up, most do. I also replaced the capacitor for my own tone needs. This bass sounds and plays great. This quality of this bass is up with the more expensive brands. I have owned a pre and post CBS Fender's. Not just a beginner bass.

Decent Bass

Comments about Squier Affinity 5-String Jazz Bass V:

It's great for anyone who wants to begin playing on a five string, the tone is great and so is the feel, but the B string does is loose and dosen't sound quite right when played. Like I said great a great five string for anyone beggining to play, but an experienced bassist with more of a budget should look for something of more quality.
