NS-bass shape, basswood body construction, and EMG pickups.

The Spector Performer Electric Bass Guitar is an exceptionally well-made and versatile bass.

Especially designed by EMG, the SSD™ (for Stuart Spector Designs) pickups have a little more midrange than EMG® HZ™ passive humbuckers.

It has been the goal of Spector to offer an affordable entry-level bass that offers the quality and tonal versatility that their name has become known for. This bass has been tried and tested by several of top professional artists and they all agree, this Performer model is a worthy addition to the Spector® family of high-quality instruments.

Comments about Spector Performer Electric Bass Guitar:

I lamented Spector not producing the Performer series on and off over the past few years. I have owned several. Stepped up to higher price tag models and returned. Why? Because bang for the buck they cannot be beat.

And this Performer by far is the best yet. No fancy finish. I got mine in black and it looks lean and mean and sounds awesome. I own a Performer 4 Classic and put it up on eBay after this one arrived.
