Comments about Rogue VB100 Violin Bass Guitar:

When I first received this bass I wasn't so sure I was going to keep it. The tailpiece was not positioned right, it needed moved about 3/8 inch to the left. And the pick guard needed moved to line up with the G string. And last, the bridge pickup was way to low, all easy to correct. After tuning the bass I had a little fret buzz on the E string at the 3rd fret. After the neck and body adjusted itself, the buzzing stopped. After this I knew this bass was a keeper! The action is perfect and the bass is a joy to play. The workmanship is almost perfect, when the ends of the frets were cleaned up, a little bit of the fret broad was taken off. You have to look real close to see it. This bass sounds great, plays nice. I give the Rogue violin bass a 9 out of 10.

Outstanding value

By William Delaune

Comments about Rogue VB100 Violin Bass Guitar:

Beautiful base that was nicely set up and ready to play out of the box. Unfortunately the B string was slipping and because of complaints about the tuners I thought the problem was much more severe. When I finally isolated it to the slipping string and remedied it with an overlap, everything resolved. The sound is very typical of the more resonate Hoffner type bases and it takes a little time to adapt from a solid body. I found myself trying to EQ it into something it wasn't. That and the short scale made it a little disconcerting during initial play. Once we got to know each other all was well and it was tremendous fun to play. Can't beat the price and the beauty of the violin body.

Bass with warm sound and very nice finishes

Comments about Rogue VB100 Violin Bass Guitar:

Bass arrived spotless and ontime. It is much better than expected in such great price. It is not a punchy or slappy bass, but the sound is warm and sustained due to the hollow body acoustic. Bass is very light weight and compact yet can be adjusted to get deep low tone. I can practice with it for hours without getting a sore shoulder like my other basses.Though bought 'used' in mint condition, it is flawless and come with flatwound.

Not the best

Comments about Rogue VB100 Violin Bass Guitar:

To start off this isn't a really bad bass, it's just not good if you want a high end one. When I got this bass the pickups wiring was messed up and the input was loose, it was an easy fix but not satisfying. Also, the strings aren't great, I'd recommend buying flatwounds. However, this bass has a really nice tone and although it's no Hofner, I'd buy this bass, with coverage.
