Totally killer design looks like tomorrow, sounds incredible.

The selected basswood on the Music Man 4-String Bongo Bass Guitar is carved into THE most distinctive body style ever -- very well balanced and responsive with a super-tight 5-bolt joint to a selected maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Dual neodymium humbuckers with 4-band EQ on 2 concentric knobs and continuous balance provide huge tone with precision command. Go Bongo or Go Home!

Comments about Music Man Bongo 4-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

First, get over the fact that yes, the Bongo's body does look like a toilet seat. But that potty body is fairly lightweight, ergonomically friendly, and was designed in a joint effort with BMW's design team. That says something. Second, the dual HH pickups will slay low powered amps, throw drummers off of their game, and warrant jealous looks from zealous guitar players. While the Bongo may be prone to battery eating, the compartments are easily accessible so it's no big feat to change 'em up. Neck has a thinner profile than a typical Jazz, and with all those frets, it just BEGS to have its upper register explored. Onboard EQ gives you the classic Stingray sound, then the classic Stingray sound on 'roids: roll down the mids, favor the neck humbucker, and a somewhat mellow P-bass can be found. Best overall sound for me is straddling both H's, rolling the bass a quarter turn +, pulling the high mids to the lower end while boosting the low mids and keeping the treble dead in the middle...that setting alone will cut through any stack, drum set, and possibly any metallic surface in the vicinity. The only downside to the Bongo, and it's minor indeed, are that the tops of the pups are contoured so thumb anchoring may be tricky at first. Plus the knobs are plastic, not metal as one might expect. Regardless, you won't be disappointed if you're looking for MM bite and a look that gets you noticed. Plus they're garnering a cult like following from pros and regular folks alike, so join in, your ears will thank you as much as your hands...!

Different . . .

Comments about Music Man Bongo 4-String Bass with 2 Humbucker Pickups:

but excellent just the same. An unusual shape, and that's exactly what drew me to it in the first place. Mine is red, well balanced, smooth as silk to play. The active humbuckers and multiple controls can give you any tone you want to dial in. Highly recommended.
