Not Impressed...

Comments about Ibanez SR400QM Soundgear Electric Bass:

Bought this bass about a couple weeks ago site unseen. I went off of some of the great reviews I got off of the internet. I should have known better than to listen to others. I got this bass and unpacked it. The bass was ultralight. The neck was very puny, I didnt get a good tone at all. So much so that it felt like a childs toy. I do alot of recording at home and have been playing for at least 30 + years so I am no stranger to tone. I plugged this in direct to see what would happen. It had such a lame tone. I was like how could people think this sounds good? The knobs to dial in finger style were annoying. You choose between fingered or slapped. I struggled to find anything decent sounding witth this. Also the treble/bass boose cut etc is very annoying to deal with. I record alot of different material and each time I brought up a new song I had to dial in a different tone. Alot of times I had to settle for getting a subpar tone. I returned it same day. What a piece of crap. If you are starting out and dont know the difference then this bass is for you.

Great Bass!

Comments about Ibanez SR400QM Soundgear Electric Bass:

Ive had this bass for over a year now. Plays so smooth and easy.. Played a ton of gigs with it. Sounds so good and has many different options on it... from slap and pop to bright and dark sounds. Great for any genre and still haven't had any problems with it. The hardware is great and the pickups are amazing! I would recommend this bass for any active, gigging musician! For the price it's a steal!
