Erudite Americans Wanna Be Like Mike.

The Mike Dirnt Precision Bass is a unique and cool bass, designed, like all of Fender's artist model instruments, to the specs of the player himself. Mike Dirnt and Green Day brought punk together with pop and combined a sound all their own selling millions of records. This bass looks a lot like the '51 P-Bass, which it is modeled after, but it's loaded with a Custom Shop '59 Precision Bass pickup, and its vintage vibe is the perfect alternative for many bass enthusiasts.

very good for the cost

A great bass. The look and the feel can't be beat. You can play anything from jazz to funk to punk.

I rushed to the my local music store as soon as I heard about this to try it out (me being a big Mike Dirnt and Green Day fan). I must say I was a bit disappointed. The bass was heavier than most standard basses (though this can easily be fixed by using a wider strap or an air cell strap), I could only get one tone, which is the low, punchy one heard in so many live performances, the pickguard came off a little too easy and the strings that were on it were too bright and twangy. Though, most of it can be fixed, I was mainly sad in seeing the lack of variety of tone. This bass is no doubt awesome, but could use some improvement. Things that need improvement on are the tone control, weight and pickguard. It'd be nice to see it in more colors as well. Love the BadAss bridge by the way ;) A must for hardcore MD/P-bass fans.

awesome

Comments about Fender Mike Dirnt Precision Bass:

You buy a Fender 'cus ya want great tone. This bass is awesome. the fatness of the low end is so sweet. Say what u want about high frequencies and upper mid range. to me, all that is easy to get with just about any EQ with any bass. Its the heartbeat, the low end, fat bottom tone that only proper design and wood selection can give you. This bass is all about that tone. I love mine.

Mike Dirnt Rocks

By

from Windsor,Ont, Canada

Comments about Fender Mike Dirnt Precision Bass:

This bass is amazing, I got it in vintage white, I put a black pickguard on it and it looks awesome. It is great to play any Green Day song with. Not to mention it has killer tone! I have a Fender 69' P-Bass, a 59' P-Bass, and this has a great look on it with true vintage appearance.I tried a Ibanez, Yamaha, OLP, Ernie Ball to get a new bass, but nothing satisfied me. I found this and I had to have it, it blew all the others out of the water.

Comments about Fender Mike Dirnt Precision Bass:

I'm not a owner yet, will be as soon as I can. The guitar looks great and my friend has it and it sounds great. I only heard it when he first got it, it was out of tune but sounded awesome and it was through a 15 watt bass amp. Great guitar!

BASSES DON'T GET ANY BETTER!

By

from San Francisco, CA USA

Comments about Fender Mike Dirnt Precision Bass:

I just got this guitar for Xmas and I gotta admit I was a little worried cuz I hadn't ever played it before. As soon as I plugged it in, I knew it was the best bass I'd ever heard! I love the body and it has EXCELLENT sound and tone. I love the rocky tone and then down to a low punchy sound. It's great for playing any kind of music. My friend has a Gibson Tom Delonge guitar and I can't wait to be able to play together cuz I know that they will make the best combination for our fav punk music. No matter what music U play, you cannot go wrong w/ this bass. It is well worth the money! Basses definitely don't come any better than the Mike Dirnt signature!
