Play the bass that carried Jaco's musical genius to the world.
The Fender Pastorius fretless electric bass preserves the memory of legendary Jaco Pastorius, a beacon for generations of aspiring bass players who bridged the gaps between R&B, rock, jazz, classical, and Caribbean musics. He changed the musical world of bass guitar with his uncanny gifts and visionary approach to the instrument. And he did it with one fundamental tool—a Fender Jazz Bass. Fender has re-created Jaco's well-played Jazz Fretless in painstaking detail, so you can enjoy a special connection with this great artist.

Grrreat bass
Comments about Fender Jaco Pastorius Fretless Jazz Bass Guitar:
This is an amazing bass. Alot complain about the price, but it is the same as a '62 re-issue, and this is bassicaly a hotrod version of the '62. I give it a 9/10 in overall quality just because Fender should have epoxied the fretboard, like Jaco's. Other than that, this bass rules. Beautiful tone and playability. Great fit and finish, on par with many Custom Shop instruments I have played.

cant get any better than serial# 001
Comments about Fender Jaco Pastorius Fretless Jazz Bass Guitar:
I was 1 of the luckiest guys to be able to purchase the 1st ever signature series Jaco bass made back in 1991 in LA....serial# 001 of 100 made .....what a bass! What tone! Just the finest bass, bar none. I don't play it much because of its collectability ....thx Fender & keep up the fine quality product you put out.

Awesome tone.
Comments about Fender Jaco Pastorius Fretless Jazz Bass Guitar:
This bass has the most warm and rounded out sound. I have owned everything from a RIC to a Ernie Ball, but nothing beats Jaco's sound. He was a great player and will be greatly missed.
