I've played bass for years and owned many different makes (Warmoth, Spector, Modulus, Yamaha). I gave up playing for a while due to my job. Recently, I wanted to get back into it again, so my wife bought this model for my birthday. I absolutely love it. It feels great, like an old friend and the sound is that classic jazz bass sound. Exactly what I was looking for. I am looking forward to using this bass for many years to come.

This bass is the best. It has great sound it is very versatile and can make almost every sound except for a P- bass(just buy a squire if you NEED that P-bass tone). The pickups and active electronics are awesome and the thing that made me absolutely have to get it the neck. The C shape is so comfortable and the fret work is great this bass blows everything out of the water for this price.

I love every aspect of this bass aside from the bridge. But other than that, the off-white finish with the brown pickguard looks very nice. The neck plays incredibly once it breaks in a little. Nice unit

I bought this bass about 2 months ago from my local guitar shop. I got a sweet deal on it b/c of a ding in the body. I'll admit that I've never been a fan of fender, but as soon as I picked this bass up I was totally hooked. The active preamp gave me total tonal control over the bass. As soon as I got it home and plugged it into my amp I got the "holy Grail" sound. The sound I've been searching for near 5 years. Its absolutely amazing what this bass can do. When writing this review I tried to think of something that displeased me about this bass... Well I couldn't find anything. I own 5 other basses and hardly ever touch them now that I have my new best friend, Scratch! Yeah I named the bass Scratch, b/c of the ding? Yeah gottcha!

I have a 1974 Fender Jazz Bass, a 1972 Precision Bass and a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass too. But this bass is better than all. The sound is great and cool. The neck is very good and the active electronics are perfect. If you are looking for a full and clean sound, this bass is for you!

Overall a great bass. I love the sound and active electronics. It's very crisp and snappy sounding, just what you would expect out of a J Bass. I also love the brown pickguard. It looks great with my black finish. The only drawbacks are the weight, it's pretty heavy, and the absence of the tone knob. Overall though, it is a great bass for the money, and I highly recommend it to anyone.
