Classic design and elegant style.
Since 1873, Epiphone has been designing and making some of the most innovative and classic instruments including the Emperor, Broadway, Casino, Wilshire, Coronet and WildKat - just to name a few. The Epiphone Zenith Bass features classic design styling with an elegant profile that pays tribute to great Jazz guitars of the past. Its gypsy style cutaway provides easy access to all frets while its f-holes and upright-style tailpiece pay homage to Epiphone's acoustic basses of the past. Case sold separately.

Comments about Epiphone Zenith Acoustic/Electric Bass:
Just received the fretted Epiphone Zenith Bass in antique natural. The finish is much darker than the photos show, almost orange, but looks nice. Calling it an acoustic/electric bass is a bit of a misnomer, although it looks like an acoustic if you play it unplugged it is no louder than a solid body bass, the chambering is not very deep. Ampified you can get a good acoustic sound from the Shadow pickups and the electronics work fine. The one I received is quite heavy, weighing in at 10.8 lbs. It seems to be well made and since I prefer solid body basses it will work fine for me to play with an amplified acoustic quartet but it is not really an acoustic at all, but it looks like one.
