Upright sound, plugged-in presence!
The Dean Pace 4-String Electric Upright Bass is well built and well priced. Position markers on the side help you keep track of where you are on the neck as you transfer your hard-won chops to the moaning, liberating sound of a fretless upright. Solid maple neck-through construction with slotted headstock, standard 35" scale, and traditional 6"- radius rosewood fingerboard. Piezo bridge with buffer preamp lets you plug right into a standard bass amp. Double-braced tripod stand and black chrome hardware make the Dean Pace Bass easy to manage and very cool looking.

Nice product
Comments about Dean Pace Bass 4-String Electric Upright:
I came across this bass while looking for a fretless bass. It's definitely not an upright bass but more a fretless bass on a stick. I tried one with an active preamp and one without. Surprisingly the latter sounded more genuine than the first. I am not fond of electrical systems that can let you down because the plug was left in the bass just a little too long. Two day's after I bought the bass without the preamp, the only thing that was left to break was the volume meter. And it broke. It was easily replaced and had a great public performance with this bass. I believe there is little left that can break and I now possess a great bass with a funny and direct sound. There will be many occasions I will prefer this bass to my wooden double bass because of it's manageable and predictable sound and ease of transport.
