Holy cow kids
Comments about Dean Edge 8 8-String Electric Bass:
I love the extra octave strings. It adds a lil extra oomph to the sound. I have big hands and was able to use this bass relatively easily (well, playing the fender P-bass large neck helps). This is well-balanced, light, and sounds great. Really, this is a wonderful bass for some people. It's use is very specific, however, so if you don't know how to handle a 4 or 5 string yet, wait to get this.

Masterful...
Comments about Dean Edge 8 8-String Electric Bass:
Don't be put off just because it has some extra strings and is a little deeper in the neck. Some people think the order of ease of playing goes in the order of string addition. 8 is easier than a 6. The octave strings take getting used to, but the sound produced pays off. And as a Dean Edge owner, I would highly recommend them for the quality, playability, looks and price. And it really does open up a huge scope for what you play.

Interesting
Comments about Dean Edge 8 8-String Electric Bass:
Well. I have not bought the 8-string yet (being careful) but what i can say is that having tried a handful of 8 strings, even a 15 string, i can say that they are great fun. They do however need constant tuning due to the guitars incresed neck tension but all in all this is a fun and interesting twist to most bass players to experience. Hell if the extra 4 stings put you off, then just take 'em off!But seriously if you try it and like it, then buy it.

great.... but complicated
Comments about Dean Edge 8 8-String Electric Bass:
It is a great bass... and worth the money all the way, but Even I, a 45 year bass player, am having trouble getting used to the eight string design, Suggestion, do not get this unless you have long fingers....

This bass guitar is awesome. I had never seen an 8 string bass before but it just kicks 4 strings butt
