Comments about Applause AE13 3/4 Size Acoustic Electric Guitar:

I was going to write a review for this guitar when I first got it, but I chose to spent some time with it before rating it. I really like the size of this guitar. I had been looking for an acoustic-electric that had the dimensions of an electric guitar. This fit that niche. I realize there is only one picture of this guitar, so I'll comment more on the physical features. The back is the signature roundback of Applause. it's not as slim as the AE128 though. The deepest part of the bowl is approximately 3.75". Acoustically the guitar is projects very well despite its small size. The bass isn't as low as full wood guitars, but is still sufficiently low. A unique trait of this guitar is it will start to sound hollow as it goes out of tune. Electrically, the guitar sounds like the AE128. I don't own an amp, so I can't fully comment on it plugged in. In the brief time I messed with it plugged into my friend's amp, the sound was clean. There are no dedicated bass and treble sliders, only one "tone" slider. Overall, I'd say this is a great value for an acoustic-electric guitar. Anyone looking into travel guitars definitely should look into this one.
