a great amp all around

By nick -fbNaE

from erie, pa

I decided that since I have owned this amp for about 9 months that I should right a review. This amplifier is just simply amazing. It is so versatile. I can go from nice clean chords on the blackface or tweed amp settings to a distorted clean channel with the uk 70's for chordal melody rush kinda stuff, to a nice classic rock tone with the uk 80's, to amazing distorted channel on the uk modern, numetal, and us hi gain channels. Also for playing some Nirvana-ish clean then distorted songs you can use the first and last settings. hey are quieter than the other channels but sound good together. The effects are also very good. It is nice that they have some of the effects mixed like giving you delay and chorus or chorus and reverb or the different delay channels. There is only one type of reverb but it is very good. I can greatly adjust the effects with the different parameters. The noise reduction and power usage features are also nice. An awesome amp but (you should) get the footswitch if you want to play live. You can save two channels of you r own which is very useful. If I were to get another amp, I would get the cabinet and head of the same amp. An awesome line of amps from a great company.

The best 30 watt combo in its price range!

By Backside5

from earth

I have owned this amp for about a month and a half now, and I absolutely love it! The valvetronix system really does offer some amazingly tubesque tones. When mic'ed, this little amp does 300 person venues very nicely (it's almost loud enough unmic'ed, but I mic it to keep stage noise down). I usually end up playing this amp with the power attenuator turned down to about 1/2 - 3/4 due to the sheer volume of it. As far as versatility goes, there are a plethora of sounds to be drawn from this amp (it's a knob tweakers dream come true!), and with the footswitch this amp gives you 3 channels on command. I have been waiting to find the right amp, and now that I have invested in this vox, I am positive I've made the right decision.

The vox amp is a friggin sweet deal to cash in on. It has like 11 different sounding amp styles. You easily blast your ears out if you're not careful.

Absolutely amazing for the price

By CDK

I was looking for a nice practice, playing-with-friends amp and I'm so glad I found the VOX AD30VT. It really is perfect for my needs. It is a blast playing with the different amp models and effects. I really think the tone is great. You really can't go wrong with this thing.

perfect for the versatile

This amp is lightweight, versatile, and yet packs enough punch to gig with. I have set it up unmiced and haven't had to peak it out to get over another guitar, bass, and drums. It can be made to sound like all the greats, not perfect but closer than all the rest. It does take some time to get used to, but thats half the fun right? I did have one problem out of it, it can surge if not properly grounded, and then you'll have to repair your poweramp. Its all good though because they have a one year parts and labor warranty. Overall this is an excellent full-band practice amp, good enough for a pro, and would be a lot of fun in the studio. Try playing it in a bathroom or anywhere also with the echoes. Lots of fun.

Great For All Styles of Music!!!

By Rob Mac

from Houston, TX

I first bought the VOX AD15VT amplifier and liked it so much that I bought the AD30VT as well. The amp work well at low volumes but really shines when its cranked up. The Effects and Amp setups work perfectly to create just about any sound necessary. My only gripe would be this: When turning on the amp you are to let it warm up and then slowly turn up the volume on both your guitar and the amp itself. At first no sound is produced, which seems strange to me. The only way to solve the problem, I have found, is to switch to another preset amp, which then allows sound o come through. This happens on both my amps so it could be just lack of patience on my part. Still, though this worries me sometimes, as I think I might be breaking the hardware, the amp is still worth much more than I paid for. The amp has all the trademark sounds of the VOX amps used by such guitarists as Brian May, an is well worth the value.

Happy Birthday!

By Jimmy Fauser

from Atlanta, Georgia

I only got one present for the birthday this year, and it was this amp, and it couldn't have been any better. The effects and presets are just so versatile and no matter what kind of music you play, this amp is perfect for you. If you're thinking about getting it, GET IT! Because it's just so amazing for its size.

Big Sound in a Little Bundle. Warm Yet Aggressive

By Daniel-EUJnD

from PAB NL

I was completely blown away by the clarity and warmth that this amp produced when I purchased it in December of 2004 and there hasn't been a day since when I haven't been pleased when I switched it on. It's warm enough to produce clear lead and rhythm licks and carries a punch when you roll up that gain dial on either of the 11 amp models. The effects are also pretty sweet. Its perfect for every style of music I play and to me it is a very important teaching and performing tool.
