Vox V847 Wah-Wah Pedal  

This Wah has the sweet spot. NICE, one of the best vintage sounding wahs I have used! But, it is a TONE SUCKER! Takes the sparkle and chine out of my rig...dulls the signal. Shame!...with a true analog bypass this would be one of the finest wahs made at any price.

ive used a number of pedals and the vox v847 is very disappointing it has a more 80ish heavy metal era sound to it now rather then that sort of cream or hendrix sound.

This Wah is what I was looking for.You can get the best of both worlds. You can get bluesy- phycadelic sound. Also, you can get that raw 80's sound at the same time. I would say it was worth it!

I was very impressed with the sound of this wah. I bought it on eBay for $60 NOS, and when I got it and plugged it in, i realized that it was the greatest wah I have ever played. I give this wah a 4/5 because of it's lack of features. There is no LED or anything to let you know when it's on, there is no AC adapter so that you have to run it on batteries, and there is no true bypass. These are all miniscule problems that anyone can have fixed, but it would be nice to have them stock.

This is a great pedal, but the reason why I give it a 4 out of 5 is because it picks up AM radio when it is on. (strange) I wonder if that happens to anyone else.

This is a really superb wah pedal. Sounds great, smooth, and built like a tank. If u want a great wah sounding, go for Vox.

This pedal puts on a good show. The sound has a very classic rock feel to it, but can be used for any and all styles. I don't believe this pedal has true bypass...but take notice to the audible click when you turn it on and off during songs (simply turn it on and off by pushing down on the tip harder).The battery life last for months on this baby, as long as you turn it off when you are finished; id even recommend unplugging the input when finished playing to make sure. To replace the battery, you need to unscrew 4 little screws on the bottom rubber feet, change the 9V, and put it back together, which is sort of a hassle.If your looking for a right wah the first time though, I'd suggest the Vox V848 Clyde McCoy special wah. What makes this one better then the V847 is the signature photo of him on the back, the tone control, true bypass, and the AC adaptor. THE V847 DOES NOT HAVE AN AC ADAPTOR!Other then that, The pedal creates whats expected. Very nice footgrip, logo, and it makes a better display to look at then any other wah pedal out there. Would easily last you years with abuse, unlike the plastic pedals. But because of the lack of an ac adaptor and tone clickage, I would have to give this a slightly lower rating. The sound is pristine though.

I got this pedal about a week ago. I have used and abused this thing and so far it hasn't let me down. Good wah for the price. Has good sound, nothing really extraordinary really about it. But for this price you can't expect all the gizmos and gadgets like others I've seen. Works for what I use it for. If your looking for a particular sound then this is not the pedal for you, unless of course you want the classic sound. But if your into something that you can use to developed you own sound, I wouldn't recommend it. No A/C adapter, but according to the guy I bought it from (who also uses the petal) you rarely have to change the batteries, according to him about once every 4-5 months. I like it works for me, and will defiantly be part of my pedal for years to come.

This is a great solidly built Wah Pedal perfect especially for classic rock tone. Its built like a rock, and has an eye-catching appearance with chrome siding and the engraved VOX logo on the four rubber feet.Though most wah pedals I'm familiar with don't have an AC adaptor for it, this is no exception. The 9-volt battery is the only way to power this baby, by unscrewing the rubber feet and inserting it, which is a hassle, but don't keep out of mind the great battery life this thing has...just make sure its actually off before you unplug your guitar.This leads me to my only problem with it...The battery. Aside from the hassle of replacing it, a new battery tends to last for a few months, then critically dull down before dying, and ultimately cutting your power from the guitar to the amp. But about all effect pedals have the same consequences through battery life, so this one is no advancement in that field.One other small problem is that depending on what your tone is set to, when you turn this on during your playing, it will be very noticeable that it 'clicks' on...since the pedal in the forward position gives you more tone then normal, so sometimes it may be piercing to your ears, but thats nothing the tone knobs on your guitar can fix.So generally, besides any battery woes, Id say this is probably your best bet for its price and sound quality. Built solid, Great Sound, Great Battery Life, and awesome performance - both audibly and visually.

This is a great pedal with a very unique sound. Its got a great pitch. But it sounds great on anything. Sometimes when it is off it makes like a humming sound but all you have to do is step on the cord and it is fixed. All in all a great pedal. Very versatile.
