VOX tone that plugs directly into your guitar!

The Vox amPlug AC30 is a headphone amp that can help you to create the perfect practice session. The tiny amPlug plugs directly into your guitar--then just plug in your headphones and relish some great Vox tone.

Jamming late at night? Don't want to wake the neighbors? Maybe you want to work out a lick with your MP3 player without taking the time to set up your amp. You want to play guitar right now. amPlug is the answer. Simply plug this palm-sized headphone guitar amp directly into your guitar, and enjoy serious guitar sound anywhere, anytime.

Even with its ultra-compact size, amPlug perfectly reproduces the complex and warm distortion that is distinctive of a vacuum tube, as well as the powerful high gain produced by a large amp stack. Using analog modeling technology, the Vox amPlug delivers full-fledged amp sound.

Even the circuit response of the original amp is simulated completely. The simulation extends not only to the response of the tone circuits, but also to the way in which the high frequency and gain are affected when you turn down the volume control of the guitar. Every detail has been faithfully reproduced.

amPlug can be used in numerous ways. With up to fifteen hours of battery life, it's easy to take amPlug anywhere. In addition to practicing at home, it's a great way to warm up before a live performance or on the road. And amPlug is not just a convenient way to get great guitar sound. There's also an AUX input jack so you can jam along with your CD/MP3 player.

AC30 emulates the AC30 top boost sound of a vintage VOX AC30, and uses two natural-sounding gain stages to reproduce the distinctive AC30 tone.

Also available in Classic Rock, based on a UK-made amplifier head, and Metal, based on a California-made high-gain amplifier head.

This is NOT a toy

By Tim-kPPYr

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

Fantastic crunch tone. Clean tones are possible but you have to sacrifice volume to get there. This can't replace my Marshall 1974X but the tone comes surprisingly close. Although marketed as a headphone amp, it really shines when played through a PA.

Nice clever devics

By Delta Guy

from Baton Rouge, LA

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

I have been very impressed with this little "amp". It has great tone and you can get some really good distortion if that's what you want. I have three minor criticisms. If you play an acoustic electric, you probably don't need it because an acoustic guitar has enough volume and this amp doesn't add much, though I suppose it's useful for blocking out outside sounds. For an electric guitar, which obviously won't make much noise without amplification, this is a great device. Another problem is that the dials are so tiny, you'll have trouble seeing the numbers your settings are at. Also, the settings are easily changed if you accidentally hit it against something, which is particularly troublesome if the input jack on your guitar is at the bottom. But these criticisms are just minor limitations you should be aware of. All in all, a great product. I'll hold off on that 5th star just because I haven't had it long and who knows what might go wrong.

Excellent

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

I tried this & the Classic Rock amPlugs and although skeptical I was pleasantly surprised to finf just how good AND versatle these are. Yea they take some dialing in but what doesn't. I bought both with the intentions of returning one but after using them the differences are so great that I've decide to keep both. I've played thru these plugged into a standard Strat with the real Lawrence pickups and Clapton tone pot, a 72 reissue Tele and a Scheckter S1 Elite. Cons: The AC30 could use more volume, especially with the gain down to stay clean. The Classic Rock model volume is not an issue

Big Tone in a Tiny Box

By Teleman

from Undisclosed

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

The Vox mini headphone amp is just what you need for silent, cord free jamming.(except your headphone/earbud cord). I can easily take it outdoors, walk around, go anywhere, and don't have to worry about dragging or snagging an instrument cord. The sound is great and plenty loud. I turn the gain and volume all the way up, and the tone about half way to minimize slight white noise. I use my guitar controls to do the rest. The offset 1/4" jack fits my Strat perfect. Works great with my Tele as well. A set of batteries last a good while. Well worth the $.

amPlug AC30

By Brad-ATMn7

from Ann Arbor, MI

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

I bought the amPlug a few months back so I could have a way to play my Les Paul in my dorm room without annoying others in my hall. It turned out to be so much better than I initially thought it would. The sound quality that this little thing creates is simply awesome, and it's a great tool for recording simple riffs and song ideas when you don't have access to your real amps and other equipment.

Great supplement/addition to your existing setup!

By mitch ledoux

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

Here's what I like about the ac-30:GREAT tone!, I was looking for something bluesy, but able to deliver something heavier at the same time, the ac-30 does it in spades. very nice chimey tones, and easy to get clean or distored. Think about this, an ipod touch and a vox ac-30 and your favorite guitar, it's like having a portable concert hall with a rock and roll library that you can fit in your hand - amazing!

Vox's amplug AC30 is a great headphone/practice amp!

By The Mocker

from Denver, CO

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

I don't own an amp and rarely play on my cousin's, and I can't afford a good quality amp right now. So this headphone amp was a must for me. Before I found this amp, I was looking around the net for an affordable great sounding headphone amp, and compared to others this seemed like the best choice. The main feature that sets it apart from the rest is the tone. The AC30's tone is what makes this such a great amp, it can go from clean (Beatles) to crunch (Led Zeppelin). I could probably get a better sound if I had it plugged into a Epiphone, or a Gibson. Right now I'm using a cheap one, that I'd rather not mention. It's made of plastic, but it feels sturdy, it also has gain, tone and volume controls. The Aux jack lets you plug in your Cd or mp3 player, which helps for better practice. Another great thing about the AC30 is it's size, I can fit it in my pocket or in a case (if I had one) which is great for travel. I've had this amp for about a month, and my playing has improved immensely. Reason being that I can hear my mistakes and practice on them. Overall this is a great headphone amp, for practicing or late night when everyone is asleep, and I recommend this to anyone who plays guitar.

Not too bad!

By Chad Cox

Comments about Vox Amplug AC30 Headphone Amp:

If you're wife doesn't like you playing after 11:00 PM or you live in college dorm, etc. this is a very cool little device. Considering its size it sounds pretty good. It's not as good as the old classic "Rockman", but for the price you can't go wrong. I like how it plugs right into the guitar. I wish it came with headphones.
