A killer distortion and overdrive in one box.

The Visual Sound V2JH is two separate overdrive effects in one pedal, each with separate controls, and each with its own personality. They can be used separately or blended together. Jekyll accurately reproduces the sound of the original TS808 Tube Screamer, providing depth and smooth sustain. The Hyde part is a heavier extremely versatile overdrive with more bottom. Use the Jekyll & Hyde pedal's EQ to scoop out the midrange for a wide range of tones and a Sharp/Blunt switch to go from compressed to very bright. The sonic possibilities are endless.

The V2 Jekyll & Hyde pedal features redesigned noise reduction and improved mid control on the Hyde channel, plus additional low-drive range on the Jekyll channel. Besides that and the sweet new V2 housing, the V2JH stompbox delivers the same great overdrive and distortion tones that the Jekyll & Hyde pedal is famous for.I

From its first appearance in 1997, the Jekyll & Hyde was the first stompbox to combine two separate effects in one pedal. Now ten years later the V2 Series gives you the same great tone guitarists have come to love, plus an added noise reduction system, creating the ultimate guitar dream!

Each channel of the newly designed Jekyll & Hyde has separate controls, giving you the ability to use them singly, or together. The Jekyll Overdrive channel delivers more output volume than the original TS-808--far surpassing its predecessor. The Hyde side is more than just a turbo version of Jekyll. With heavier distortion and more bottom end, this crazy distortion pedal is extremely versatile!

From Visual Sounds V2 Series, the V2JH Jekyll & Hyde Overdrive and Distortion Multi Effects Pedal features a diecast aluminum housing, ultra-reliable 10 million cycle switching, easy battery access and circuit protection from AC adapters.

Thumbs up on overall quality and Distortion, Overdrive is picky

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2JH Jekyll and Hyde Overdrive and Distortion Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I have had this pedal for a couple months and use both the overdrive and distortion extensively. I have tested practically every usable setting (except some of those using both sides at once) and every position in my chain of 8 pedals.

1) Quality of build; casing, button, knobs, jacks - Very solid. No complaints whatsoever.

2) Overdrive (Jekyll) side - This side is extremely touchy. I tend to set the drive knob very low or very high, because anywhere in the middle seems to change the feel of the drive and make the guitar sound less crisp. I also tend to use the bass boost because without it I find the overdrive to be a bit thin sounding. The tone knob is the part I am not impressed with. It doesn't have enough of an effect until you turn it close to all the way up. But you can't go too far, or it will sound like you're playing a tin guitar with buzzing frets and bad pickups. You really have to work to find the sweet spot. When you do, however, it sounds quite smooth and gives a nice thick tone.

3) Distortion (Hyde) side - Excellent. WIth my particular guitar and amp, the "blunt" side already has plenty of treble. I rarely use the "sharp" side. Great sustain, and AWESOME for rock rhythm guitar. It sounds at least usable on almost every setting; with the right EQ it sounds absolutely amazing.

4) Both sides together - Great for very smooth yet very thick sounding lead guitar. I use this a lot with a light delay and some reverb. Incredible sustain. It gets noisy so you will have to bump your guitar's volume knob down a bit.

Overall I'm quite happy with this pedal.

Jekyll & Hyde

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2JH Jekyll and Hyde Overdrive and Distortion Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal to cover all of my dirt and it has definitely been able to do it. The Hyde side is where it shone for me. It is able to produce a lot of distortion with getting muddy. The only thing that I would add on the Hyde side would be a bass knob to further it's sound capabilities. The Jekyll is a modified tube screamer with a bass booster. I personally don't like tube screamers but this one could hang in there. I ran a clean tube1x12 combo and ran this in front and it sounds amazing.

My personal fav Dist/OD pedal out there

By Nathan-2tOH.

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2JH Jekyll and Hyde Overdrive and Distortion Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

This pedal is amazing. A TS808 with bass boost and filled-out tone on one side, and a versatile distortion that covers every genre well. Using both together is a plus; I use the OD clean as a gain boost to the Hyde side, and I can really do some damage. Built-in adjustable noise gate is a plus and works well. Pedal is as silent as any pedal could be. Another sweet feature most don't realize about this and other pedals in the line is the conditioned by-pass. Instead of relying on the myth of 'true-bypass' (do some research, interesting find...), it instead will condition the signal through your entire pedal chain to fill out the wavelength, regardless of position. Buy this pedal!

Versatile high quality pedal

By Rocco-LgA.H

from Yardley, PA

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2JH Jekyll and Hyde Overdrive and Distortion Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Getting a dual pedal for this price was outstanding. The overdrive side alone was worth it since this pedal's overdrive is comparable to the TS808 tubescreamer with the ability to be more aggressive. Add the distortion side with Treble and Mid controls along with the usual drive and volume settings, and you get a wide range of tonal possibilities. In fact, on the distortion side, cutting out the Mid completely gives a great metal sound. The pedal overall is dominated by midrange on both sides but can be very subtle depending on the settings. Using the overdrive side alone with drive set to zero yields a nice "clean" sound and can be used as a volume boost. Users should be careful using both sides at once since the result can be overwhelming. But keeping the drive settings low on either side can really still push an amp and give some great lead, crunch, or overdrive. This is a great pedal and competes with most of the high end overdrive/distortion options on the market. I'd highly recommend it.

The perfect live performance tool

By Tom S-F48cw

Comments about Visual Sound V2 Series V2JH Jekyll and Hyde Overdrive and Distortion Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I've had this for about a month after someone who owned the older version let me try theirs. I was sold on it instantly and the new version is even better than the old. This is the only pedal the performing rock guitarist needs. it provides smooth overdrive and high gain distortion. The best part is that they two effects can be set up separately and then used either alone or in combination. And since the pedal provies separate volume settings, you can get the exact effect and boost you need durng solo time. And it's so simple to use, you'll be up and running in minutes.
