Comments about Visual Sound GarageTone Series Drivetrain Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:
I've had this pedal for two weeks now and am completely satisfied with its performance. At the power drive setting, with the drive, treble, base knobs way up and volume up a bit, you get a nice Nirvana-like overdrive sound. At the other end of the spectrum, with the drive and volume turned way down but treble and base at medium to high, you get a nice, warm, clean, chimey, very rich, boost that works well for jazz, comping ballads, and other situations where minimal breakup is desired.
By turning up the drive a bit, one can get the same warm, chimey, rich boost that will break up slightly with a smooth but crunchy kind of sound.
I didn't detect any noise at any of the settings except at the very highest and it wasn't excessive. Sustain is enhanced quite a bit at every setting. Bypass works fine. Dynamic response is very good. The richness of the sound seems to come from boosting and enhancement of overtones. Thus, harmonics sound extra nice.
