The Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 Tube Amp Emulator costs less than the original Sans Amp, and it's easier to set up. So they compromised on sound quality, right? Not as far as we can tell! GT2 purrs and screams with the same kind of fat, warm, glowing-glass sounds heard in the original, but cost-effective manufacturing brought the price down. You select amp type, modification, and mic placement. Find the tone you want using high and low EQ, set your level, dial up distortion with the drive knob, then hit the "on" switch. The Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 is a truckload of tube amps in just one pedal!

Not what I expected
Comments about Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 Tube Amp Emulator:
This is a nice preamp but I was expecting a lot more for the price. While my first Impression was full of dissapointment the gt2 grew on me. Now I cant play without it, Everything sounds rich and its really easy to master.

This is your one stop pedal for great & versatile sound!
Comments about Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 Tube Amp Emulator:
The GT2 did not crush my head, however, this is one amazing & versatile pedal. It can deliver every classic guitar tone from Bruell to Clapton, SRV to John Petrucci This is your one stop pedal for great & versatile sound! For direct recording I do recommend using a speaker emulator.

Excellent Tool!!
Comments about Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 Tube Amp Emulator:
I wanted one of these for quite a while after hearing a TECH 21 amp and reading some of the reviews on the pedals. I use it with an old (1963) Ampeg Jet. It's 15 watts Class A, but no break-up until it's maxed out and plenty loud. The pedal is plenty of "oomph" and all the distortion I ever need, without having to turn my amp all the way up and tear my head off. I like the Bluesbreaker setting they give you in the manual, but you can go all the way out to a Smashing Pumpkins saturated distortion if you want. Very versatile; not just for "rock." Now I don't have to get a new amp with a bunch of extra crap I don't need. This is also good enough to run straight into a board with a little delay for PA.

GT2 Kicks
Comments about Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 Tube Amp Emulator:
I plugged my GT2 with SVT setting and it crushed my head (I play bass and I use Marshall 7200 head with 7215 cabinet). Now I have demolition set. The variety of setting makes GT2 one of the best and most universal distortion pedal effects I've ever heard. I also use XXL from Tech 21 and I'm impressed by the sound produced by both of GT2 and XXL and I don't need to have a tube amp to make my room shake. GT2 has one defect: it produces quite a lot of noise so I recommend to use noise gate. But this is nothing to the power it makes!
