Own it, Love it!

Comments about Peavey Classic 30/112 Tube Combo Amp:

I was looking to purchase my first tube amp a few years ago and my local music shop had a used Classic 30 (the older one) and told me that it sounded better than any other unit he had in the store. We sat for about 1 hour doing comparisons with the Fenders, Vox, and Marshalls that he had in the store in roughly the same price range. There was no question that this amp sounded better than the other amps. So, I bought this amp and have been very happy ever since. Like other reviewers here, I also like the seperate FX loop, and I love the spring reverb. I added a grill/guard to the rear because of the reports of broken tubes during transport, and I am glad to read that Peavey has remedied that problem on this version. There isn't anything not to like about this amp. It's clean, it's loud (can't turn it up past 2 in my house either), and the price is great! Oh, and isn't this one still made in the good old US of A? My version is.... and that is surely something to consider when purchasing equipment that very well may appreciate rather than depreciate over the years.... overall, I am a very happy and proud owner of this amp and I highly recommend it.

I love this amp!

Comments about Peavey Classic 30/112 Tube Combo Amp:

I bought this as my first tube amp, and have not been sorry. I was looking for a great amp with an FX loop that had good reviews, and this one seemed to fit the bill, and the price is right. 30 watts doesn't sound like a lot, until you play through it. I can't turn it past 2 on the volume in my house or it's too loud! So there's no doubt that for most folks, these 30 watts will be all that are needed. This is a great amp all around -- the clean channel sounds clean, and you can get quite a crunch when the gain and post are turned up on the dirty channel. I also like that it has a boost button. Nice FX loop as well. The reverb on this amp sounds quite nice as well, although I don't use reverb much. It really does suit the blues/classic rock sound. I've been a proud owner for over 2 years now, haven't had a problem, and would recommend to anyone.

Peavey Amp

Comments about Peavey Classic 30/112 Tube Combo Amp:

I've had Peavey guitar amps, bass amps, and power amps for over 30 years. I had one wire get loose on a 4-10 combo. That is it. The Classic 30 is the perfect small to medium club amp for a decent price in the business. You can hear people say "It sounds like a tube amp ' about solid state amps. Well, just buy a real tube amp and live. I just wish they made a 1 twelve matching extension cabinet for my black tweed amp. There's no perfect amp for everything but for me this works just fine.

Solid all round sound

Comments about Peavey Classic 30/112 Tube Combo Amp:

I brought the older model (also tweed) in early 2005, the only difference being cosmetics on the front panel. In the end it came down to a choice between this amp and a Fender Blues Junior. I'm happy with the choice I made. This amp has a great warm sound, clean, and on the lead channel the distortion is particularly impressive. You can turn the gain up and use the volume control on your guitar to clean up as required. Check out the tube compliment of this amp to anything else in it's class . You get a heck of a lot of glass here for the money! The ability to line out to other speakers is a great feature, occassionally I run this to my 2 X 12 Marshall cab and it sounds great with the smallish 30 watts of the power amp driving bigger speakers. Make no mistake, this amp is loud! Built like a brick, with plenty of power and so far, no reliability issues. The tweed looks awesome. Single coils and humbuckers are both equally well served.Go ahead and get one. I'd recommend an amp stand for better projection. I'll be getting one soon.

Great Little Amp

Comments about Peavey Classic 30/112 Tube Combo Amp:

This amp packs a large punch for such a small and lightweight box. Very dynamic sound in the clean channel. The overdrive is pretty smooth in the dirty channel.
