Best Solid State Amp You'll Find on this Site!

Comments about Peavey Bandit 112 Guitar Amplifier with TransTube Technology:

I owned one of these for over a year. Fantastic tube-like tone AND feel. I've not played another solid state amp like it. The voice modes you have on the clean and lead channels offer a wide range of tones from classic to modern. It's amazing how many different tones you can get from this amp. It does "loud" really well. In fact, it sounds better the louder you play it. The "feel" improves with volume as well, just like a tube amp.

Peavey Bandit 112

Comments about Peavey Bandit 112 Guitar Amplifier with TransTube Technology:

The Bandit has been in production for over 20 years. In this latest incarnation, it has third generation trans-tube technology. This gives the Bandit an absolutely astounding clean channel. This channel has a 3 position switch that repositions the EQ curve. It works exceptionally well. If you like heavy overdrive with lots of metal options you'll love the "lead" channel. This also has the 3 position switch that goes to an insane high gain setting. If you use this channel with humbuckers I have found that the buckers will overwhelm the input and pummel this channel mercilessly. It becomes harsh and grating to these ears pretty quickly. Subtlety thy name is not this channel. It does work pretty well with very low gain single coils like in my Squier 51 but 99 percent of the time I tend to use a good overdrive pedal. The bottom line for this Bandit for me is that it is a powerful lightweight gig worthy amp that only needs a good overdrive to make it totally usable for the classic rock and blues my band plays.
