Get the chorus pedal that fuels the deep, dark guitar sounds of Black Label Society frontman Zakk Wylde.

The MXR Black Label Chorus is Zakk's secret weapon to thicken up his wall of distortion and add liquid dimension and texture to clean passages. At the heart of the MXR Black Label Chorus is its bucket brigade circuitry-the only way to get truly rich and warm analog chorusing. The MXR Zakk Wylde Chorus pedal's vintage style tones are dialed in by High and Low cut filters and Level, Rate, and Depth controls. For the ultimate in spatial chorusing, hook up 2 amps via the 2 outputs for a wide and sweeping stereo spread. Like all MXR pedals, the Black Label Chorus comes in a heavy-duty housing with durable jacks and switches for a lifetime on the road.

The MXR Zakk Wylde Chorus guitar pedal can be powered by one 9V battery (accessed by removing the effect pedal's bottom plate), a Dunlop DC810DC brick, or MC403 Power system (sold separately).

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

It only took 40 years of guitar playing to finally find a chorus pedal that sounded exactly like I wanted it to and this is it. Dead quiet switching; flawless, sweeping chorus, and typical sturdy design from MXR. I have tried and used several over the years but this is the only one that I would recommend to others.

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

Been playing guitar for 30 years. Have tried and owned numerous chorus effects over the years. This one is pretty cool. It's well built and sounds pretty good especially for a chorus in this price range. The control knobs makes this one of the more versatile choruses out there. This chorus was built to sound good with high gain distortion and it delivers. It can also deliver nice deep sounds for arpeggiated playing. Wouldn't use it much for vibrato however. Sounds a bit sterile at certain settings but is quite transparent. If you want to thicken up your high gain lead tone a la Zakk Wylde, this pedal will nail it. For warm, shimmery, organic sounds try something else. But at this price, I can't complain. Another winner from MXR.

      Not the Greatest

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal to replace an old Rocktron I was using and I was a bit disappointed. First off, it just quit working after 2 weeks of use in my small jam room. However in the time I was able to use the pedal it did not enhance my tone at all. It is true, if you are looking for that ZW sound this pedal will get you there. Just don't ask it to do much else. The sound seemed sterile and lifeless. Not what you would expect from a chorus pedal at all.

      thank you MXR!!

Comments about MXR ZW38 Zakk Wylde Black Label Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

Well... it's hard to dial in something that doesn't sound good. I tweaked for less than five minutes until I found my sweet spot. Then I tweaked some more just exploring what all this pedal can do. Gotta say I am most impressed. I replaced a Boss CE-5 on my B-rig with this. Holy moly the difference is huge. The Boss is tin-can and boxy whereas the MXR is way more fluid and organic. It does a great job at thickening the tone without sounding so electronic (especially through a cranked amp!). On my A-rig I've got a Maxon CS-9Pro and this little MXR just might boot that one off onto the B-rig. The MXR is WAY cheaper too. I wish they wouldn't put the power supply on the side of their pedals. Makes it kinda hard to cram onto tightly packed pedalboards, otherwise I might have given this guy a 5. Considering the tone and the price I would highly recommend this pedal.
