Through a clean amp, it sounds really smooth. Sounds amazing playing arpeggios, nice and tight for rhythm work. However ,you get a very, very loud noise through a dirty amp. You have to keep the level on the pedal low to eliminate the noise, but that drops the overall level of you signal, so that defeats the purpose of using while playing lead.

I tested out this compressor versus other compressors like the BOSS CS-3. It's works cleanly without adding any hiss. I use it with my stringray5 and it's given me the just right tone and the additional punch I was looking for. Also the sustain on long notes is fantastic.

It makes your clean sound like you have never heard. It is also good with distortion and it is cheaper and better than compressors of famous brand like Boss or Digitech. You can play from metal to country. BUY IT WITHOUT REGRETS!
