The Phase 90 was instrumental in creating the guitar tones on the early Van Halen records; the swirling, spacey sound on such songs as "Eruption," "Atomic Punk," and "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love." The EVH 90 captures the warm, hypnotic tone of the vintage "script logo" Phase 90, and with the flip of a switch also delivers an intense, edgier phase tone. It features rock-solid internal construction and an indestructible enclosure to ensure years of flawless performance. What I love about this pedal is that it gives a good sound. This pedal actually gives you a real effect. What I mean is that, other phase pedals make it sound like your playing an arcade game, and you can't really hear the guitar! But this pedal, it gives you a really good sound.

This is a great pedal wether you like Van Halen or not. Phase shifters sound awesome whether you have the gain at 10 or are playing clean and this is by MXR so you know it's the best. Aside from the awesome paint job the only difference from the regular phase 90 is a script logo switch which if your obsessed with tone will come in very handy.

Man if you are an Eddie Van Halen freak like me you should be more than satisfied with this pedal. It is really good if you're wanting to get Eddies "brown sound". But if you don't really care for Eddie Van Halen, just get the regular phase 90. It's the same thing without the "Frankinstrat" paint job.
