I wouldn't be spending the time to write a review unless I really appreciated this amp. A great amp to have because it fits perfectly in your guitar case. All you need is a cord and you can play anywhere. The first reaction of my friends was that they didn't believe it made noise let alone such tasty noise as it does. Not to mention overdrive! The bass is a little lacking, and the clean channel gets somewhat distorted as you turn it up, but this amp puts out enough volume to jam. I was surprised by the amount of detail. Quite a pretty little thing. If it would ever break, I would keep it to set on a shelf somewhere. The distortion channel is excellent, and if you have a good pair of headphones and a decent chord there is little difference in sound quality from that of my Marshall MG30DFX 10" amp. It may be helpful to have a cord with a right angle on one end to keep the cord weight from bringing it crashing down. Many have said it before, for the price, for the name, for the size, you can not go wrong.

This is a neat looking little amp, but is basically a toy. Don't get me wrong, but the sound from this little amp just doesn't justify the cost in my opinion. I experienced way too much buzz from the amp at normal (not cranked) volumes. Just too much for the sound this thing puts out.

Surprisingly loud AMP

By BP

from Miami, Florida

Comments about Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp:

I needed a portable amp for my son and decided to give this one a try. My first impression is that this little amp packs a punch! My son loves it as he can clip it on his belt and run around the house letting everyone hear his playing! Both the OD and clear channel are excellent (as long as you do NOT put the volume up). The sound muddies the higher the volume. Also, the first one we got stopped working (probably because the volume was pushed too high and the mini-amp could not handle it) or it was a defective unit. Either way, the folks from Music 123 took care of the problem immediately and provided us with a second amp. So far, no problems with this one!

Pleasant surprise.

Comments about Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp:

This a neat little amp. I got it for my daughter to take to school for guitar class. She will probably never want to play the acoustic again. When cranked, this thing sings pretty good! Very good tone for a speaker this size.

Not too bad

Comments about Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp:

This is a good little amp but it isnt too loud. The distortion channel is the loudest. I recomend this amp to use for practice or traveling, especially if you have a travel guitar like the speedster. Overall for the price it is a good buy!

great sound, small package

Comments about Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp:

Alright, this is the best practice amp you can possibly get. The sound is amazing and the distotion is awsome for playing stuff like Black Sabbath, and all punk and classic metal sound. Plus...it gets pretty loud to for just a dinky 1 watt but it sounds amazing. I got a 100watt marshall and this thing kicks just as good! I also get a lot of use out of the belt clip on the back. In conclusion, if you want marshall sound but dont feel like pluggin inti a biggie and want to WALK AROUND while playing, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!

Honey, I Shrunk the Marshall Stack

By Braden.

from Morgan Hill

Comments about Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp:

My friend brought one of these to school one day. It is sick!I have a Squier Champ 15 and it out performs it in every way; sound quality, distortion, (not too much but not too little) and price to quality ratio. I very much recommend this to anyone who just wants to practice at home or on the go.

Comments about Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp:

If you are a guitarist, then u have to buy this amp. Its is great very convenient, and plays extremely well. With Clean and Distortion both amazing me, this is the amp to get. My girlfriend gave it to me for a x-mas present and I wish I got it sooner! And if you are worried about the batteries, don't it have a 9v jack so you can plug it into the wall!!! Bottom line buy this amp now!!!

Battery

By Aaron-ei9uF

Comments about Marshall MS-2 Mini Amp:

Great, one sore point though, the battery compartment is too snug to fit a rechargeable battery, dry cells are slightly narrower.
