I wanted a heavy sound, which was also very mid-responsive as far as the fast rhythm goes. Also, something that could scream out in a solo. I tried some Marshalls, Mesa Boogies, Peaveys, and then this little monster! Lets just say, that I am 100% sure that I made the right choice.
I bought the head and cab that went with it.Though this head/cab is expensive, it is worth it for what I play. The controls take a little time to get used to but after that. WOW!Every useful Amp model I can think of along with effects, effects routing, stereo spread with 2 4x12 cabs, 24/96 out to recording rigs, etc. Overall, this amp has the best distortion I've heard, especially for Metal! I can duplicate tones ranging from Dino C of Fear factory to distortion sounds from The Skolnik/peterson era on the first testament album. This amp along with an older 90's ampeg head had that type of tone but that's it. I've found nothing else comparable, not even a Marshall can produce this kind of flexibility in tone and distortion. Bravo Line6!
