Light and Sweet

Comments about Gallien-Krueger MB210 2x10 500W Ultralight Bass Combo Amp:

Right out the box, the MB210 combo is very powerful and is adequate for a small to mid-sized venue. Compared to my SWR LA15 combo, the MB210 combo is light-weight making it easy to transfer between gigs. The tone is very versatile and you can play with the knobs to get the tone that's just right for you. The MB210 is the only combo in the MBE series that allows you to add an extension cab. I bought the MB210 and added the GK Neo 212-II for an extension and the sound was adequate but not impressive. So my next purchase will be the 410MBE as an extension for the MB210 combo and I'm hoping to get a better sound since both units are part of the MB series. If you want a versatile combo amp that has a fantastic sound with crisp highs and deep warm lows at a good price, then I highly recommend this amp as a wonderful stand-alone. By itself, it sure packs a punch.

Wow!

Comments about Gallien-Krueger MB210 2x10 500W Ultralight Bass Combo Amp:

After reading some great reviews about this amp I took the plunge mostly based on the power rating and weight of it. I was looking for a combo that was light but at the same time loud and punchy. All I can say is wow!! I have been playing bass for over 20 years and have owned multiple combos and stacks and I can honestly say this is the best sounding amp I have ever owned. Not to mention I can carry this amp across the parking lot to my gig by hand no problem. It is that light. This amp will cut through the boomiest room and is plenty loud for an outdoor show if you don't feel like hauling in your stack. Although you can run an extension cabinet with this amp, after sound checking at an outdoor gig last month I called my buddy and told him not to bother bringing his 70lbs, 15" bottom for me to borrow....didn't need it. Excellent tone, portable package

Comments about Gallien-Krueger MB210 2x10 500W Ultralight Bass Combo Amp:

I ordered this after reading a bunch of rave reviews on Talkbass. When I brought the UPS package into my house, I thought there must be a mistake - how could it be so light? This can't growl like my old A*peg stack... but it does. Turned it on, plugged my jazz bass into the passive input, and left everything at 12 o'clock. The sound blew me away - clean, crisp, no buzzing, rich midrange and bone-shaking bass. The band liked my sound at our gig, and I had no problem keeping up with my loud drummer. Oh, and then I only had ONE trip back to my car: amp on the left, bass on the right! I can't believe that such a great tone comes in such a portable package. I chose the MB210 over the 212 because only this model has a parallel speaker jack. With the two internal 10" speakers it pushes 350 watts, but if you add the GK Neo 112-II, you get a 500 watt mini stack that won't break your back.
