This little amp is awesome. They must have made a mistake at the factory and put the power amps in them like 50 watt ones instead of 1. This thing so loud! If you want good distortion, this isn't the amp. Its got that really brutal fender distortion (like the fender stage series amplifiers). If you want distortion, go with the Marshall MS-2. If you want really loud, good clean tones this thing rocks. The clean channel is very clear and fendery sounding, very nice. Its perfect if you are a blues guitarist that needs something that they can bring when travelling or just sitting around playing. The tone knob on this thing is very useful and if you turn it to the right you can get a really nice bassy sound. Most mini amps don't have a lot of bass, but this one is an exception. It's not like any amazing shake stuff bass but it's got more bass than other mini amps, so it doesn't sound really fake, instead very warm. I suggest this amp to anyone who wants a mini amp with a good clean channel.

I bought this little thing because I wanted an ultra small amplifier to use in my apartment. After reading some good reviews I decided on this one. I have no idea what the people that wrote those reviews heard when they switched on this little "amp" but what I heard had nothing to do with the sound of a guitar amplifier. Even a really cheap, solid state one... It is nice when clean (gain to zero...) but turn up the gain and its overdrive becomes the epitome of bad transistor distortion. In the beginning I thought that the speaker was blown so I tried it with my headphones . Apparently, it was not the speaker... Its volume and size is OK for what I need but its tone is horrible so I decided to buy a few electronics components and make a whole different circuit in the (rather attractive) plastic box this "amplifier" sports. For the clean tone it gets 2 stars...

Comments about Fender Mini Deluxe Amp:

Having had most models of Fender amps, since 1971, at 64 years old, I didn't expect a black face Super Reverb sound, which I've had. It is what it is, something for fun. Did you ever have 3-4 players all with these? With a delay/reverb stomp box ? Just a hoot.
Twenty years ago I bought my son the little yellow Fender Bassman model for similar price. It goes for six times that on auctions now...go figure

Comments about Fender Mini Deluxe Amp:

This is a killer, nasty little practice amp and it can hold its own in a jam if other players stay at a reasonable level or are playing acoustics. But the revelation of its great secondary purpose was how great it is as a PC speaker. Music sounds great and if you like to watch TV on the computer you'll finally be able to hear the dialogue. And it looks really cool.

Great sound, and options for playing. Really small, so the performance will amaze you.Options of battery power or 9vDC is great. Very impressed!

Great starter & travel amp, not good for much else.

Comments about Fender Mini Deluxe Amp:

I bought this amp to start off with, as I just bought my first guitar ever. I saw the price tag, and thought "Hey, look! I can use this until I get better and join a band!' I read the other reviews and most of them said that this amp is not the amp to buy if you want distortion; they're right, and that's why I only gave it 4 stars, but all in all, this is a great amp. The sound is very clear, not fuzzy at all, and is surprisingly very loud. I highly recommend this amp for beginners or people who travel a lot.

          Worth the price

Comments about Fender Mini Deluxe Amp:

When there's a fresh set of batteries in this little amp, it will perform very well. The distortion will get muddier and buzzier as the battery power wears out (it takes about 4 hours of playing to burn out the batteries). I'd recommend buying an A/C adapter for it if you're not playing out of the house. One other thing to keep in mind is that this amp is very lightweight, which is good for travel but bad for keeping it upright on a surface. The cable input jack is at the top of the amp, which--when plugged in--will often tip the amp over. Other than those nitpicky issues, I'd say it is well worth the money you're paying for this. It gets fairly loud. I live in an apartment and I would never dare turn it all the way up.

Great for travel or as a practice amp

Comments about Fender Mini Deluxe Amp:

This amp is great for travel. It has pretty good tone and gets a lot louder than you would think. I travel a lot for hockey and I thought I'd get this for the longer trips to use in the hotel, it was exactly what I needed for this but is also loud enough that I can use it for practice at home.

Comments about Fender Mini Deluxe Amp:

As as US Marine, I travel often and always take my strat. I bought this little amp just to power my headphones, but was delightfully surprised with both its clean and distortion channels. It comes in handy for jams in the field or hotels. The battery lasts a few days (with constant playing). It also takes a 9 volt AC adapter if you want to save your battery. Mine didn't come with an adapter, but the one from my Crybaby Wah works fine with it. The belt clip comes in handy, too...... You never know when you may have to cut heads with Steve Vai (Jack Butler) to save your soul from that crossroads deal with the devil!
