Comments about Fender Hot Rod Series Blues Junior III 15W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:
if you are looking for tube tone in a small package, this amp is for you.
while it's small, and gets a nice tone at lowish volume, don't be fooled, this thing will keep up with a drummer no problem.
one of the main things I like about this amp is that it doesn't automatically start to distort at high volumes. while the amp overdrive sounds sweet, I use pedals for that, so I prefer a clean amp setting, without any break up at high volume. well this amp is exactly what I wanted. there is a "volume" and a "master", which work basically like a pre, or gain, and then master volume. so if you don't crank the "pre" up too high, you can keep that beautiful, sparkly, fender clean tone at a pretty dang high volume.
this amp is only one channel, which again, is not a problem for me, because FULLTONE DISTORTION PEDAL.
it's a bit pricey, but if you want that tube tone without lugging a huge monolith around, this amp is for you. I love mine.
oh and the speaker sounds great. I have read about people upgrading the fender speaker, and I suppose it makes a slight difference, but this thing sounds outstanding right out of the box.
