Comments about EVH 5150 III Head and 4x12 Half Stack:
This half-stack speaks for itself. I've been playing Van Halen stuff for a few years now, and I promise you when you mess around with thing you'll understand why this was built. It's a culmination of the Marshall Plexi on channels one and two, and the 5150 I&II on the third. I don't play on a lot of clean settings, but with a seymour duncan 57, i can't ask for more. Channel 2 gives you that much sought after plexi low end and bite which everyone looks for when it's sitting right here! Channel 3, wow, i mean it just speaks for itself. You do not need (for the early guitar stuff) your EVH Phase 90 pedal. it has that tone ALREADY PUT IN IT!!! Now of course when it comes to a few songs like Atomic Punk, and Ain't Talking Bout Love you'll need it but, for the most part on the guitar solos you don't. Oh ya and by the way people SEAMLESS footswitching. No clicks, pops,or timng needed. As the man himself would say. "It's right on the money."If you want it don't hesitate, it's hard on the wallet but trust me it pays for itself compared to any other 3 channel amp like the Engl's,Saldono's, or Bogner's. I'll keep this thing until it dies and then buy another.
