Packed with cool and innovative features, the REBEL-20 doesn't just defy authority, it is the authority!

Sure it's tiny, but do not mistake it for a toy. The Rebel-20 from Egnater is a truly professional amp head with features and sound that are anything but small. Inside you'll find 3 GrooveTubes 12AX7 preamp tubes, a pair of GrooveTubes EL84 power tubes, and a pair of GrooveTubes 6V6 power tubes. Not only do you get the signature Egnater TIGHT and BRIGHT voicing switches, you also have wide-range gain control that lets you go from bluesy clean up to roaring high-gain lead all using a single gain knob.

The Watts control lets you turn the Rebel 20's power from 20 watts to 1 watt for bandstand to bedroom volume. This guitar amp head also includes a professional-quality effects loop that doesn't "suck tone." But the coolest feature of the Egnater Rebel-20 is the TUBE MIX control—an Egnater first. With the TUBE MIX knob turned counterclockwise you get the classic American sound of the 6V6 power tubes. Set the Rebel 20's knob full clockwise to experience the more aggressive, British sound of the EL84 tubes. For the first time, you can blend the 2 types of tubes in any proportion you wish to create a truly signature sound.

real gig machine

By Chris Jusino

from Long Island New York

Comments about Egnater Rebel 20 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

This is an easy and useful piece of gear for anyone one who plays a lot and needs versatility without ridiculous volume. I love the sound of a tube amp cranked, but hate hearing sound men and bandmates telling me to turn down. This amp lets you play it wide open without killing the band or the Front of house guy........ Really good for those of us who roll volume up and down to vary distortion and use a tube screamer for solos.....

Great tone

By Todd Weller

from Topeka, KS

Comments about Egnater Rebel 20 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

It might be a one trick pony but the tone is awesome!. It does offer some neat features like blending 6V6 and EL84 tubes to taste. I tend to like it dialed more towards the 6V6 side. The overdrive is nice, it's more of a crunch tone vs a high gain tone. This little guy is loud enough to use live at a small venue but where it really shines is as a studio recording/practice amp. I give it 5 stars!

Great sounding portable tube head

By Dan-h4rE8

from Boston, MA

Comments about Egnater Rebel 20 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The first thing that catches your eye about this head is the small size making it very portable to carry from rehearsals or gigs. That's fantastic for someone like me who has multiple rehearsals to go to and wants to use the same amp throughout. Then you notice the ability to switch between EL84 and 6V6 power tubes. This allows you to get Fender-like tones on the 6v6 side and Vox-like tones on the EL84 side. Or you can mix the amount and use any portion of both. This is a pretty awesome feature. The next impressive thing is the watts knob which allows you to set the power from 1 to 20 watts. I don't think it works quite like a attenuator, but it allows you to push the amp at any volume level whether you're at home where you need to be quiet or at rehearsal/gig. The only negative to me for this amp is the lack of built in reverb. However, it does have an effects loop where you can put a reverb pedal. I've put a EHX Holy Grail Plus pedal in the loop and really like the results. This amp is turning heads and rightfully so. It get get ice cleans and can also reach higher gain tones. It is a maximum of 20 watts, so you can't expect the clean headroom of a higher wattage amp. But I'm finding the cleans fantastic for jazz. I also like to push the cleans a little bit to get some bite, and it excels in this situation. Finding great rock tones is simple. 20 watts is also enough power for me for medium gigs. If you're playing larger gigs, you can always mic it.

Great size, Great Tone

By donsimon

Comments about Egnater Rebel 20 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I was looking for a tube head for my living room that had good tone at lower volumes. I had tried the Epi Valve Junior, Blackheart Little Giant and a couple of others. This came out and the specs looked really good. I got it and have been thrilled with it! I can get really good cleans and amazingly sweet low gain sounds for real full sounding chords. The tube knob is subtle but still is a nice option. The watts knob is cool because the amp reacts differently depending on how the knob is set, it doesn't just affect volume. To me, it is worth every penny!

Fantastic Little Amp

By Jimmy Polk

from PSJ Fl

Comments about Egnater Rebel 20 20W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I was not sure if this amp was going to deliver what I wanted but it did all that and then some. I have come to realize I only need one channel if it has enough gain to get the job done and yet cleans up when the guitar is adjusted. I dont have an OD or distortion in my pedalboard anymore. I only need a compressor and an EQ to go over the top. I say that anyone but hardcore metal and death players should really check this little toaster oven out. It is anything but small sounding. Using a 212 slant cabinet with eminence wizard and texas heat.It has enough volume to do almost any gig. This has relpaced a Boogie F-30 and a tweaked Deluxe Reverb. Very satisfied. Highly reccommended.
