Interesting

By Justin Henderson

from Rustburg, VA

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I still haven't done all the experimenting I would like to do on this multi-pedal yet, but I've gone through all the basic effects and they all have their own differences, from sounding really freaking thick to creating a nice wah effect. It definitely takes a lot of experimentation/messing around-with, and I recommend to use this. The only complaint I have is that the synth effect could have more saw/sawtooth in it..it has more of a brrrraaaang sound in it. Great pedal though!

try it - you'll love it

By Brian J.

from winston-salem, n.c.

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I bought this processor over the weekend and am quite pleased with it. I was impressed with the solid construction, especially in light of anotherreviewer's complaint of questionable quality. The salesman assured me that he has sold several of these units, with no complaints, and assured me that I could get my funds refunded if anything went wrong. I was also impressed with the number of preset effect and the capability to customize to my preference. I have a 6-string bass, so the "octavizer" sounded muddy on my lower strings. Istayed up most of the night tinkering around with it. I've never owned an effects unit until now,so I compared it to others before buying. I tes-ted a Boss octavizer and a Peavey Kosmos. I chose this one over those because of the pedal and the effects. I still might get the Kosmos because of the clarity of the notes, but I had to have some effects first.

Great for studio-bad for live

By John-2t91M

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

This pedal has some awesome effects and sooo many features its unreal. Every effect is customizable so its really nice. The problem is when you try to play live. Mine worked great for a little while, but I kept having problems with the pedals sticking and wouldn't move to the effect i wanted. It was also very hard to get to the 'bypass'. You had to press both pedals at the same time and they are not very close together. Overall, this is an amazing piece of equipment for studio and recording. It is a pain to use live though.

An update from me

By Benji

from North Carolina

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I recently reviewed this pedal back in mid February. I probably should have waited until now to review it, because I hadn't fully explored the machine in it's totality. I can honestly say now, that after 4 months, there's no doubt that this is the best pedal out there for the money. I originally complained about the lack of batteries and an on/off switch. When I think about it, these are minor things. Digitech's website contains a user patch library section, created by BP 200 users. There are close to 150+ that you can try out and manually load in, if you like. This is a deceptive little box, which has a lot more in it then meets the eye. Don't get caught up with the standard presets. If you don't like them, modify them or load in a different patch. This way, you can have 40 customized patches along with the 40 factory sets. (Which can't be altered) You can literally have 80 programs at your disposal. In my original reviewe, I complained about the lack of synth programming. This is still a progress in works, but I've discovered that the key is to mess around with the envelope filter, then tweak other effects...delay, pong, et. Throw in the drum machine, and you can be a one man bass-band! So there you have it, my update. This is a great pedal, buy it!

Great deal

By Sic Mick

from Bahrain

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I was searching Music 123 for bass effects, I wanted to take the BP80, but I took an experts advice and took the BP200. Boy, am I happy that I took his advice... The BP200 has everything I need, a drum machine with 31 beats, 16 amp types, 40 factory/40 user presets, plus it has an expression pedal and a tuner. The effects are great, it has 2 wahs (auto wah and rock wah) and lots more of awesome effects. Thank you Music123, it has been great dealing with you. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great multi effect processor.

A fun pedal to play with

By Benji

from North Carolina

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

Well, I've owned a Zoom 708 and a 708II. Thought I'd try something different with the BP 200. Needless to say, I haven't been disappointed. This unit has a better, cleaner internal processor than the Zoom. It just sounds punchier, has a better presence to it. I could never get enough volume with the Zoom, you can crank it with this baby! It's built like a tank, and very easy to program and edit. A couple of downsides include: the lack of batteries. This is where the Zoom beats it out for portability. The other is the 200 power cord....only 5 feet long. Oh, and no on/off power switch! With the Zoom, I could take it out on my deck, the backyard, hell, the roof if I had to! Since I primarily use this at home when everyone's asleep (I'm not in a band right now), it's not a major problem. I'd have to give the Zoom the advantage when it comes to ploughing through effects, going back to change or alter programs. You have to start from scratch with the 200. The Zoom is more user friendly in this respect. But all in all, I'd have to say I'm having more fun with the 200. Very easy to program, create new programs and bank away. One reviewer complained that the programs sound the same. Well....some of them do, but not all. That's where you have to be creative, alter and customize your own. I've come up with some outrageous fuzz bass distortion programs. I love the chorus, flange, octivider effects. Cool. So I'm giving this a strong 4. I'd give it a 5, if it weren't for the lack of batteries and on/off button. Give this a try. I really can't say anything terribly negative about the Zooms, but...eh, this just sounds better.

worth the money

By Old guy

from Pa and Fla

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

Just got my BP-200 and I spent 4 hours just playing with it. It gives my bass more voices and effects that are just plain fun to explore. The learning curve is very short and the unit is easy to use. I like the metal case and the general feel. The built in effects pedal is a money saver. Only downside is the documentation. It's a bit light but the unit is very intuitive and a little playing around should get you where you want to go.

Good Value

By The Stewman

from New Albany, MS

Comments about DigiTech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

Has a nice selection of effects and they track very quickly. It's user friendly and easily programmable. The rhythm function definitely makes for better practice by yourself. The price is nice too for the bass player on a budget. Tuner is a little difficult to access, but since I didn't buy it for the tuner it gets a 5.
