Great pedal, but ate the battery in one day

By moth

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

The pedal does what it claims to do, add or cut the freqs listed on each slider. I didn't notice any noise or sound coloration with it in my guitar signal path..
If you've been on the fence about buying an
EQ, for the price you can't go wrong with this one. Don't like it? Send it back. I bet you won't though. I have used this on many different voiced tube amps, from an old Marshall bass to Blackstar, and it will get you the tone you want. It's like having tone controls that go to 40 instead of 10. I didn't notice any lose of that 3d swirling tone and note definition in the old bass amp, just boosted some frqs I wanted. Gain and crunch are unchanged....though the pedal has a level slide, you could use it to boost the volume of a single channel amp for solos.
I basically use it as a channel that i can switch in to change the amps tone for different songs.
Thumbs up.

Pass the Guiness

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

I guess I've rated it an eight because I have no other experiences with other graphic equalizers. I used to think true bypass was real important, but not so much anymore. Especially, on something like an equalizer which would generally be on.

I heard some good things and for the money the next nearest graphic equalizer costs more. Some put down the plastic case and if you were stomping on stage, I'd agree that could be an issue. The stomp switch could at least be higher given the plastic.

I like it, and I will always use an equalizer. You don't have to make drastic changes to see significant changes in your tone. You get can get burstbucker humbuckers a bit more trebly for rock'n intervals. I mainly have one setting that I use. I like to bring up the treble and midrange a hair with the bass flat. I haven't tried my strat with it where I think you could use some midrange and treble boost.

I'm also interested in using it with a certain pedal to bring out some more bass, it's a clone type of another pedal that is probably a bit bassier than the clone.

I used this with a boss DS-1 mod and a Guytone ST2 sustainer/compressor, an art tube series project pre amp into a Vox pathfinder and I felt I near tube screamer status but not so compress which is why I don't like tube screamers.

I would have to say that unless you are doing heavy gigging and stomping this is a cheap pedal that will over great tone shaping abilities for under thirty bucks. I'd replace mine if ever needed ASAP.

Fish & Chips EQ

By Tele Warrior

from Blytheville, Arkansas

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

Does what it's supposed to do.....very inexpensive Because it is a very small pedal the in and out jacks are almost too close together for my core x2 cables. On the plus side, being small is a bonus for your pedal board. I leave mine on all the time, but if you turn it off and on a lot I don;t think the button will hold up.

Great deal!!

By Danny-8kECK

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

I needed an EQ to simply boost the mids and highs in the loop of my Vox Valvetronix. This does the job well and it is on constantly. It makes no noise, does not mess up my tone and is perfect and cheap. I opened it uo and soldered the footswith button closed and then stuck it into the opening of my cabinet plugged it into a power strip with the amp cable as well, and then with one plug coming out of the cab- I have everything powered up and now surge protection with the power strip as well.

Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips

By Kirk-0EWIL

from Washington State

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

I'm pleased with this pedal. I wish I'd picked one up a long time ago. It does exactly what I wanted (providing much more adjustability in tone than the amps controls plus providing the option of a gain boost), and for the prices seems pretty solidly built.

awsome little EQ

By Jay dog

from Toledo,Ohio

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

I own this little guy and I have to tell you it is very good at what it is supposed to do. It will warm up anything you plug in to it. We actually ran our entire setup through it to see how it would sound...It did very well considering it is not intended for such a use. In short, buy it and see what I say...I have 25 years of musical experience so believe me you won't be disappointed.

GET MORE THAN WHAT YOU PAY FOR

By mike-f0od9

from west michigan

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SIMPLE EASY WAY TO TWEEK YOUR SOUND YOU WILL LIKE THIS. There is no line noise at all from the adapter. Do yourself the favor and dont let the low price make you think that its a low end product on the pedal list. Im not saying that you will have a guitar players spiritual awakening from this but you will feel that this is a sweet little tool to have.

A must have

By Matt-Q9HsZ

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

This pedal is great! I just got it last night and it is exactly what I needed. The 3-band EQ on my amp is worthless compared to the tone control I have now. It really brings out the tonal qualities of any guitar.

good good good!

By gerwyn

Comments about Danelectro DJ14 Fish and Chips 7-Band EQ Pedal:

The range of different sounds you are able to achieve on this thing are incredible. If mine broke, I would go out and by another one straight away. It is a very reliable piece of equipment to have on stage. The only thing I do dislike about it is its size. I have lost it many times due to its smallness.
