First off, let me say I wanted to use this with a bass. My bad. There are 3 dials: Level, Tone, and Gain. As soon as I get both of the Level and Gain dials above about "1" the signal deteriorates into this horrific screech. Tap a muted string, the screech stops sometimes. Tap the string again, the screech is back. Not exactly what I am looking for. Maybe I just got a bad unit. I ended up going with the DigiTech XBD Overdrive Pedal. Much better even if it is 5 times the price.

unplug after use
Comments about Danelectro D-3 FAB Metal Effect Pedal:
great pedal, but eats through batteries like crazy. The manual says to unplug the pedal after use, (or something like that) because the 2 cables complete a circuit. I've been using one 9v for about 3 months now just by doing that, but a power adapter would be a good investment.

Un-Freakin-Beleivable
Comments about Danelectro D-3 FAB Metal Effect Pedal:
I used all of the FAB series pedals when I started playing guitar. And I must say, they are very very very high quality for being so cheap. They really are a wonderful product. Rather you're a guitar virtuoso or a beginner, the FAB effects pedal series is right for you.

amazing
Comments about Danelectro D-3 FAB Metal Effect Pedal:
This pedal is amazing! I basically got it cause it was cheap but the sound isnt. It has a full sound any musician can love from blues to classic it has every thing you can want. Its body is plastic so dont stomp on it. I highly recommend that you get an adapter for it cause this little thing eats up batteries so much. but the best purchase I have ever made. Great buy!

Horrible pedal
Comments about Danelectro D-3 FAB Metal Effect Pedal:
I got this pedal and it was pretty good. Until the pedal short-circuited and no sound resonated anymore. I took it apart and saw some horrible electronic design. I quickly got to work, soldering, tweaking, and changing some of the electronics out. After I got done it worked better than when i got it. It just has a horrible tendency to short-circuit, that's all you need to be worried about.

this pedal is so awesome
Comments about Danelectro D-3 FAB Metal Effect Pedal:
When I got this little baby and plugged it in, I was amazed. You can customize the distortion sound you want from blues to rock....even bash metal! LOL! The only thing is you have to be careful about is how you step on it because it is plastic. Mine almost broke.

Great Pedal. Especialy for the price.
Comments about Danelectro D-3 FAB Metal Effect Pedal:
Well, I first bought this pedal because I needed some good rock distortion, right now all I have are a DigiTech Grunge, a DOD FX-50 Od and the onboard gain (which sucks). I got home, plugged the pedal in with some Dano batteries and started rocking. At first the pedal sounded a little weak, but once I played with a few settings I got it to start shapping up. Lowered the Mid on my amp, raised the Bass, treble full... Sounded good... Then I turned up my reverb, not so good for rythm, but on solos it SINGS.

Great Pedal. Especialy for the Money
Comments about Danelectro D-3 FAB Metal Effect Pedal:
This pedal rocks! Especialy if you have 3 things - 1. a good amp, 2. reverb (spring preferably) and 3. a good guitar. No pedal in the world will make a cheesy amp and guitar sound great..............I first bought this pedal because I needed some good rock distortion, right now all I have are a DigiTech Grunge, a DOD FX-50 Od and the onboard gain (which sucks).
