I have owned 4 of these since 1999. The 1st one went down the first time I used it on a wedding ceremony. The second one worked for two years and then the effects went out. The 3rd one stared crackling and sputtering after 6 months and the tech said it had bad solder joints which were fixed but it continued to cut out on every gig. The 4th one started making the sputtering noises after 2 months. The tech said the pots were very cheap and that If he replaced them they would be bad again in a few months. This one continues to work but causes stress on gigs regularly so I no longer use it and I don't feel right selling it. After all this experience I wish there was an alternative to the Crate Limo but there is nothing that sounds as good or is as loud that is battery powered other than the Crate Stagemate which is even more expensive (and is really a PA) and much larger. Well, that is what I am using now and so far, it is great for acoustic guitar, vocals and tracks.

Nothing else comes close to the Crate Limo for street performing. I spent three years on the streets of Vancouver earning a living playing a classical acoustic/electric guitar through this baby and selling CD-Rs. I sold 3,000 CDs and got hundreds of compliments on the sound. The battery lasts 8 hours. Can you last that long on the street?
