The Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah Pedal gives guitarists a wide range of classic auto-wah and dynamic wah effects, plus a new "humanizer" effect that can simulate human vowel sounds. The Boss AW-3's bass input even provides a variety of funky wah sounds for bass guitar. An EXP mode allows wah control via optional expression pedal.

The classic design of the AW-3 puts it ahead of most, if not all, of its competition. No doubt BOSS means for this thing to stand up to some abuse, that much is clear. Sound wise, it won't give you the drippy 70's Mu-Tron vibe, but has a more "modern" take on the funked up wah that may turn some purists off. It took me a but to bring out the pedals character, but once you dial it in, you'll find you'll stick to it, although the Humanizer adds some neat color with its "vowel" ability. All in all, worth the price for its excellent construction and BOSS' reimagining of the filtered wah sound. Downside: if you're looking vintage Bootsy, spend the extra cash and look elsewhere. Upside: unique sound and variables means better chance at finding your own.

This pedal has the most current sounds available in a voice or wah effect. Boss has a lot to offer with this pedal and you can't beat the price. In my opinion, this pedal stands up to any of the other classic wah or voice like effects. Boss effects are in a class all by themselves.
