I have other amplifiers, but I can't get the sound that I want at lower volumes. I have had my eyes on this amp for a year or so and finally made the purchase. The HT-5R is a smoking amplifier that nails the sounds that I have been looking for!! It has a really clean clean channel and a gain channel that is just what I wanted. You can get your tone to breakup at volumes that won't bother your neighbors. It just is a really nice amp for just about any use.
The reverb is not as nice as a spring reverb unit, but it is usable and it sounds fine. With a 12" speaker, effects loop, numerous speaker output combinations, headphone jack, ISF function, and included footswitch, there's just not much not to like about this amp. It is the amplifier that I have been waiting for for a long time.
The only negative comment that I can make is that there is not a low cost cover available and that is not a knock on Blackstar. If you want a small amp, buy it!! You won't be disappointed.
