First off, so you know, I'm an old-fart professional musician/teacher/luthier with decades of experience; I've gigged with some famous folks been active in the biz all my life and have played/tested more amps than I can possibly count---I'm not basing this on whether the amp was good for one sound or from an inadequate knowledge of how to turn a knob. The fact is, this amp is KILLER at its price as far as sound goes; I've seen nothing that comes close within $250 of its cost. It's LOUD, the speakers seen to crunch without much mud and the clean sound is very reminiscent of an old Twin. Obviously, out of the 27 different combos claimed for it, only a few will end up being used (I suspect that I myself will use 3 or 4 max), but they're WONDERFUL. So WHY did Behringer do a couple of what to my mind are DUMB things? I admit that by buying a MIDI foot controller you can alleviate some of the effects bugs, but some of us may not want to clutter up the floor onstage too much. Okay---no way to scroll thru the digi FX on the footswitch. A price vs features quibble. Four compressor patches that seem to do almost nothing (where's the sustain?), and worst of all aren't combined with any chorus/reverb for the kind of long wet/modulated clean chord sustain most of us want. Actually, the quality of most of these FX is VERY nice and the pitch transposed ones are better than a lot of straight rack effects---but why no way to edit the pitch intervals? K--I recognize that most of these ARE just quibbles; the fact that the FX are there and sound so good is a BIG credit to Behringer, certainly not enough of an annoyance to ME to make me return the amp. What MAY make me return the amp is this: WHY do the INTERNAL speakers DISCONNECT when you hook up EXTERNAL speakers? That's just dumb. Most of us want to be able to monitor ourselves on stage as well as stick a couple of cabinets out to the side for stereo FX. If you just want to create an 8x12" stack, why even bother with the internal 12s--just make a head. Impedance issues are NOT hard to deal with, and it seems a complete waste of two perfectly good Jensen 12s to have them UNUSED if you're using a couple of ext. cabs---plus the extra weight of carrying around the amp with its internal 12s makes this seem REALLY dumb.

I bought this amp from this websight, no problem. I was stoked when I first got it. It worked excellent for 6 months, then it started sounding like a shower as my band members would say. It cracks a little in the sound (which isn't from the instrument cables) The effects are neat, but I never use them. The overdrive channels rock with 27 different styles to choose from. If your low on cash like me, U might want this amp.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I used to get some great sounds out of this amp, particularly a cool 60s British sound from some of the settings.

But...this amp has a plastic input jack. I stepped on my cable once too close to the amp and snapped the jack right off. As far as I can tell, there aren't any replacement parts to be had so I have this big beautiful amp sitting there in my man cave and taking up space. Maybe I can solder on a generic jack from Radio Shack, but it is really lame that a nice amp is hosed because of a cheap plastic part. Reminds me of the old expensive Jaguars that would need a major overhaul because of a cheap plastic part in the tranny.

Anyway, this was a great amp while it worked.

        Terrific Bargain

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

This amp arrived the NEXT DAY after I ordered it and everything on it worked right out of the box. The quality to price ratio truly is astonishing. I feel that I have gotten way more than I paid for. In fact, there are a lot more features than I will probably use very often, but the variety and dumbfounding amount of sims and effects give me more options than any single amp I have owned or used. I have had it for a year or so and there have been no quality problems. I am relatively gentle with it so nothing has broken. It took me about a month of daily fiddling to get the sound and tone combinations that I primarily use for my Gretsch 5120 and a vintage Harmony Strat copy that I have tweaked. The best features are: the true stereo sounds and effects, the extreme variety that is possible to set up between channels and effect combos (just like playing through two completely different amps), the volume control on the rear panel for input stuff, the amazing variety and control of reverbs, the warmth of the all-digital sound modeling with the twin twelve Bugera speakers, and the surprising loudness from what is essentially a 60-watt digital amp (there are ways to get those 120 watts going but you have to figure them out). I agree that the speaker disconnect feature when plugging in externals is counterintuitive but I have been thinking about messing with it to see if that limitation can be disabled somehow. For the price, what you get out of this amp is truly amazing. I played through a bunch of others at or near this price point, and I have No Regrets for going with the Behringer. Best new amp for the money by far. I'm planning on getting more Behringer audio equipment because I am so pleased with this one.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

Great little amp ,lot of sound for the money, you really can't go wrong , 5 years playing still good , I did have some cracking at one time ,pulled the amp apart to find some wiring ribbon, the glue had pulled loose, glued back down no problems since ,or it could have been leaving it in the car during the day at work and maybe it got hot " too hot " .

I bought this amp a couple of weeks ago...And I love it! It has great effects and sound quality. This amp is extremely loud and good use for band gigs or practices. Overall, this is a very good choice for guitarists, no matter how experienced you are. If you ever have the money I would consider getting this amp.

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

Great amp for all players...clean channel a little quiet, but workable. Choppy clean to distortion, but not bad for presets. Definitely a great buy, and GOOD AND LOUD distortion. I recommend you get it. It'll take some time to find an effect you like, but you're guaranteed one out of the 100 presets

        This amp Owns!

        By Chris-tfbNn

        from Arizona

Comments about Behringer V-Tone GMX212 2X60 Watt Stereo Guitar Combo:

I was looking around for a good amplifier to use in a band situation. This was it. For the money, you cannot get anything better than this. You can get some really dynamic high-gain tones out of this puppy, and some really beautiful cleans, especially with the use of the onboard effects; which contrary to popular belief, are actually quite incredible. This amp is incredible for every type of music, and can easily handle the abuse of a Metal-like situation. As far as tone goes. . .well as I said, the analog modeling makes any tone desirable easy to achieve. So bottom line: Don't waste your time on anything else, just buy this now, no matter what kind of music you play, it owns. as far a construction goes this amp is indestructible. Our drummer knocked it over and it crashed to the floor. . not a scratch or any problem of any sort. Virtually indestructible.Behringer was a brand that I initially shied away from due to their incredibly low price, I figured that if it was that cheap, it must be a piece of crap. Boy was I wrong.
