I've played the Ashdown Mag 210 with the Ashdown 300 watt head for a couple of years for smaller shows. Was always really happy with the rig, and it was a great alternative to lugging around my 8x10 stack! Lately I decided to add the Ashdown Mag 115 to the rig, and I am very happy with the results. I have a great round bottom end, and the 210 cab gives clarity on the higher notes and attack. I would not recommend this cab for use by itself because it has no tweeter and the upper mids and highs are completely lost. But if your looking to build a great small - medium sized rig, I strongly recommend giving this cab a try.
I bought this cab 3 years ago. It has been through hundreds of shows, countless full volume practices, and literally thousands of miles in pickup trucks, trailers, suv's, hatchbacks, and even sedans. and once in a cargo van. The carpeting is still all black, despite the rain and snow here in Colorado. The recessed handles are still firmly emplaced. The corners are still in one piece. (each) The grill doesn't have so much as a scratch in the paint. But It's dirty now. The Blue line Speakers ashdown uses must be immortal or something. This thing Kicks some serious bottom end. The lows out of this 15" are perfect for 5 or 6 string players. If you are really looking for that low punch you get out of your ContraBass, Or good bottom end for salp and spank so you can let your 10"s and tweeter "sparkle", then this is the cab for you. It's heavy, Don't waste your time with 4x10 cabs if you care about how your rig sounds. a tweeter, 2 10"s, and this 15" is exactly what you need. Just bring a solid state head with about 300 watts, and you can't go wrong.
8x10's no need for them stick this under a 4x10 and an ashdown mag600r head the bass stack to end all bass stacks having a fifteen makes all of your lows super clean you want to rumble the stage this can and will do that for you peak out...never this thing is perfection for bass frequencies sub lows or just punchy this thing is a must for bass players!
I have an Ashdown 2/10 a 115T and Ashdowns Mag 300 Amp and it's hands down the best you can accomplish without wasting your money. I play a Fender Deluxe P Special (active electronics/jazz neck and it can peel the wall paper off or butter your bread. This as close as they come to a do all set up. There may be some to pick this apart but there is no perfect set up and no bassist is perfect it's always what suits your soul so says Bob Seeger.
I've had the MAG C210T 300 and couldn't be more pleased. As my playing venue demanded more than just the 2-10's I the combo, I added the MAG 115T. The combination of the 2-10's with the 1-15 is right on the money for a large club and small outdoor arena (<2000 people). This rig with my Washburn XB400 produces a clear pitch in the mid/upper range and a chest thumping bottom. Drummers love the fact they can hear my bass lines clearly. As mentioned in another review, the metal grills could be beefier, but are adequate with a little care (the only reason for a 4).
I bought this speaker cab based on Ashdown's reputation as a high end bass company, and I was NOT disappointed. Talk about "bang for the buck"!This cab has TONS of low end (I am currently using a Hartke head, but after reading some reviews of the Ashdown heads, I am thinking of changing over), and is very clean. I don't see how you could get better sound for the amount of money. I had heard that some of the plastic corners could break in shipping, but Ashdown must have changed their shipping carton, because this thing had tons of packing material, and it arrived in excellent shape. You won't go wrong with this cab.
I have this bass cab and the 2 by 10 cab and they are a great addition to to any bass head for a pretty powerful rig. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is cause the metal grills are kinda weak and can be bent in easily. Other than that, a great buy if you are on a budget.
