Portable, powerful, and toneful.
The Ampeg BA600/210 is not just another everyday bass combo. Even though it packs dual 10" LF drivers, an HF horn (with Level control), and a whopping 600 watts of pure power, the BA600/210 is easily transportable. You get Ampeg's legendary tone-shaping thanks to it's multi-stage 12AX7 tube preamp, style control, 3-Band EQ, and Ultra-Hi/Lo switches, all of which make it extremely versatile. It even lets you choose between 2 channels, the vintage B-15 channel and a more modern tone with the simple click of a switch.
By integrating a Class D power section and universal switching power supply, Ampeg was able to keep the BA600/210's weight factor low, without sacrificing power output or sound quality. The combo also features a variable compressor, a selectable pre/post XLR tube DI with Level control (the same as Ampeg's SVT-DI), and an effects loop.
If you're a semi-pro to professional player seeking high-powered tone in an extremely versatile and portable package, this bass combo from Ampeg is a great solution.

Comments about Ampeg BA600 / 210 2x10 Bass Combo Amp:
This isn't the Ampeg i know and love. As a professional musician and loyal Ampeg supporter for many years, I can't believe they're selling this quality of gear. I bought the amp because I loved my BA-210 - perfect for small venues. I wanted the upgrade for the extra power, the weight (50 lbs.), and to move back to a tube amp from solid state (sounds better to my ears - especially with my flatwound strings). First of all, this enclosure is not well constructed. At even moderate volume, playing in the lower registers (E-String, lower frets) produced an extremely loud buzz. In trying to identify the source of the buzz, I placed my hand firmly on the back of the amp, and presto, the buzz went away (are you kidding me?). Unfortunately, despite being able to tighten some of the screws, I couldn't get rid of the buzz. Secondly, this amp (at least my version of it) has electrical issues. I probably wouldn't mention this in a review (assuming I just got one of the few lemons) had not multiple other reviewers (see Musician's Friend) mentioned them. Anyway, the output cut out, and back on multiple times within ten minutes of first turning it on. There were loud pops out of nowhere, and then on the last cut out, a loud bang preceeded getting sound again. At that point, I just turned it off permanently. The sound quality is fair only. The vintage channel sounded like it had a lot of balls, but the buzzing was so irritating, I didn't even try pushing it. I bought the item used off of e-bay, now I'm stuck with it, because I can't in good conscience sell it to someone else. Very disappointing!
