Where's the beef?
Comments about Ampeg BA115HP 220 Watt 1x15" Bass Series Combo Amp:
I bought this amp thinking "hey, Ampeg..it's got to be good..right?" Wrong. I bought the amp and promptly returned it for a Tech 21 combo (which blows this Ampeg away). It looks sharp with the traditional Tolex, and cloth front, and it appeared to be relatively heavy duty. As for the sound...blah. Undefined boxy tone, and very poor volume. I once owned a cheap 30 watt Peavey combo that screamed next to this tub. Don't buy these Ampeg Combos. FYI, I used both a G&L L2500 and an American Jazz bass, both sounded terrible in this amp.

Good Sounding Combo but Overpriced
Comments about Ampeg BA115HP 220 Watt 1x15" Bass Series Combo Amp:
I have had this combo amp for a year and it has performed well and sounds really nice. I have used it to do small gigs, rehearsals, and I use almost every weekend at church. I love the tone you can get out of this amp and combined with my Sansamp BDDI it sounds really sweet with a little tube emulation. If you like the Ampeg tone this little combo does it well. It's not real tube tone but it's about as good as it gets in this price range. I am really happy with the tone I get. It is the single reason why this amp is worth buying. It has a built in tuner that works well and it came w/ removable casters and spring loaded side handles. These are important since it weighs 85 lbs. The amp lacks an effects loop and the ability to send a pre/post EQ signal. You can't adjust the level of the signal from the D.I. either. That bugs me. A combo in this price range should have those features. Overall it's a nice amp and it has served me well.

I have had this for a year now and love it. I really like it's power for small to med. gigs and the tuner and mute switch really come in handy. Definitely worth the money!

Great and powerful amp !!!
Comments about Ampeg BA115HP 220 Watt 1x15" Bass Series Combo Amp:
When I originally started looking to buy a combo amp, I knew I was going to buy an Ampeg. Before buying this model I actually bought the BA210SP model with the 15 different effects. I took it home plugged it in and was very disappointed with it (plus the built in effects didn't work correctly). I immediately went back to the store and exchanged it for this model. I'm glad I did because the overall tone was allot better with this model. I definitely recommend it. It has a lot of power and great overall sound.
