Pretty good piece of gear!

Comments about Ampeg B-4R Solid State Amp Head:

I will say that Ampeg has done it yet again for me since I upgraded from the B2R to the B4R. I've found this amp pairs quite nicely with a couple SVT-410HLF's. Your guitarist might as well quit, because he'll never be heard again when you crank this baby up more than 1/3 of the way. TONS of headroom on this sucker, adding a separate tube amp (I use the Ampeg SVT-PRO) and this sucker is even louder! Excellent options to customize your sound, it's not weighting in at 70lbs either, so it's easy on your back if you add it to an already expansive rack unit. I haven't really gotten a chance to give it a complete rundown, but I definitely like what I have seen thus far... And for those of you that like tubes but don't wanna drop $$$ on a separate tube pre-amp to get that warm coloring. There is even a tube emulation switch that does a good job at trying to re-create that tube sound! If you're looking for something to power those big rigs, but without the added weight from the tubes, then this sucker is where it's at!

Lets Rock The House (Literally)

Comments about Ampeg B-4R Solid State Amp Head:

I purchased this from music 123 on the "outlet" page. It arrived and didn't even have a scratch on it, it looked brand new! Wow, did I get a steal or what? PROs: the amp gave clear, clean, crisp music with the ability to "crank it up" as loud as you could possibly want. Also, you can set the amp to play any type of music you could think of (country to funk) there seems to be no limit to what this thing can do! I believe a lady from my church summed it up best. She told me, "You didn't sound that overpowering loud, but I could feel each note as if it were a shock wave!" CONS: The fan has a mild noise to it! Can't hear it when you play and it doesn't come through the music. The only problem I have is the other musicians hear it when we pray! OVERALL: I'd purchase another one again in a heart beat!
