Made better than most reviewers state. Yes, the tuning pegs were loose....30 second fix with a screwdriver. Plastic strings...yes. I replaced them with a set of aquila nylagut..Sound quality much brighter and easier to play. They need to "pitch "the guitar tuning pipe, and exchange it for a ukulele p-pipe. Exellent deal for what you get, plus a gig bag. With new strings the cost was less than dinner for 2 out.

I like the full package of the instrument, guide case and tuner, but I have yet to be able to play it because i need to order decent--or better yet, real strings for it. As inexpensive as uke strings are I was surprised that this one came with plastic strings--not nylon, but literally plastic toy instrument strings that I can't even tune. Guess I'll have to wait to see how it plays until I get strings.

Sounds better than my friend ukulele that cost more. I recommend purchasing ne strings but it still sounds great with the ones it comes with. I had to customize the case it was kinda weak. I think this is a great instrument to learn on.

Comments about Rogue Ukulele Starter Pack:

I've used cheap guitars before that are almost unplayable so I was a little skeptical about ordering this cheap uke. I've had it now for like a month and I am extremely happy with it, Some folks are complaining about the instrument not staying in tune but that is completely silly, the "paperwork" that comes with this thing even says that the tuning pegs might need to be tightened a bit with a screwdriver. Not a big deal. I probably wouldn't use it in a concert setting but it's certainly perfect for practicing, playing around the house, or playing for tips on an urban street corner.

I didnt know how to play the uke before I got this and I don't have any idea of it's quality until my friend told me that these uke is not the best. I did not believe him at first but after playing this uke for 2 weeks, I can't tune it properly because the thing keeps on turning by itself.

Comments about Rogue Ukulele Starter Pack:

Got this uke today and I thought it was going to be a lot better than the cheap uke I got from another site. But I was wrong. This uke feels and appears so plastic looking. Tried to buy some better strings and even improved the screws for adjustments but nothing happened. Comparing it with the other uke I first got... the first one I got even still sounds better even the main uke already has a big crack on it. Quite disappointed with this uke.

Comments about Rogue Ukulele Starter Pack:

Strings are poor, but with new strings and a little tuning with a proper pitch pipe, not the one they give you, and it sound pretty good, actually it sound great for the price. If it had better stings and a proper pitch pipe it would have been better for me.

        not tuneable

Comments about Rogue Ukulele Starter Pack:

The body is beautiful, but we couldn't tune the ukulele. The tuning heads don't hold the plastic strings in place. My husband and I are both musicians and we bought this for our daughter's birthday. Boy, were we disappointed. I returned it.

        Ok for a beginner

        By Rick-hWA_c

Comments about Rogue Ukulele Starter Pack:

This is a pretty good package for a beginner to learn to play a ukelele. The main problem I have with this uke is that it won't stay in tune, even after I tightened the screws on the tuners. Geared tuners would have been nice; other ukeleles at this price point have them. Also, this package came with a guitar pitch pipe, not a ukelele pitch pipe. Even with these problems, I'm enjoying learning with this ukelele, although I'll eventually buy a more expensive one.

        Great deal for the money

        By Bill-RBCvL

Comments about Rogue Ukulele Starter Pack:

I bought one of these about a year and a half ago -- I take it on river trips and it is great around the camp fire. I use the cardboard shipping box as a protector case, and put it in a dry-bag. It has great tone and action, and at this price, should it get lost or damaged, I can buy another! The one's I've bought have had OK strings -- but at this price, the possible need to get a new set of strings shouldn't be a deal breaker. The plastic carry bag is a nice plus, though I went ahead and bought a regular case. I recently gave one as a gift to a friend who retired, and we've been getting together for lessons and general good times making music. There seems to be a growing community of Uke players in our area.
