In many ways, this uke is fine for the money. However, the action is too high and this makes it very hard to play properly. You could get the action lowered, but that would cost money, and then the uke wouldn't be cheap after all. Beginners should be especially wary. The high action will make it hard to play and you might come away from this instrument thinking that you're no good at the uke, when in fact the problem is with the uke itself.

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

I'd read all the reviews I could find, good and bad, on this bari uke. I even watched all the YouTube Vids, and this uke is even better than I expected. It's got a nice mellow deep tone that is unexpected at this price point.
Worth the money, I may have to get another for the family so they will leave mine alone!

Truth about the Rogue Baritone

By Austin

from Undisclosed

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

Ok, here is the truth about the Rogue Baritone. It's not a bad instrument, but I wouldn't want to get one for someone who couldn't set it up. I needed to shave a good amount off the saddle to get the action into a reasonable height. Also, the Rogue logo on the headstock is fuzzy looking, like it wasn't printed very well and the sticker inside the body was peeling off and the body seems to be painted rather than stained wood. As for tone, it kind of sounds a little like a cardboard box. That being said, the Rogue comes with decent strings and the intonation is correct up the neck. If you need something to take with you without to much investment or worry, this would be a good choice. You won't find another baritone ukulele that can beat this price!

Best money I have spent on an instrument in awhile.

By Patrick thomas

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

This Ukulele has breathed new life into my playing. Since the baritone tuning is the same as the highest four strings on a guitar in standard tuning, the transition to playing this instrument well was easy. It provides me with a unique sounds that is still accessible.
The relative small size has made this a convenient instrument to pick up and quickly figure something out when random inspiration strikes.
The soft case it comes with does not offer much protection, but will keep the instrument dust free and help keep it from being scratched.
A definite win for such little money.

Good Starter Instrument

By Revpaul0719

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

I carefully read the reviews before I bought this Baritone Ukulele and I must say they were right. This is a good starter instrument for the money, something to play around with before deciding if you would like to spend more money. I also changed the strings as the strings that came with it were not very good. The tuning they give you in the package is for the Soprano and Concert Uke so be careful. I busted a string trying to get it tuned before I looked online and realized my mistake. The finish is not the best but the instrument looks OK and once the strings were changed the sound was much better. I have not had tuning problems once the strings stretched out. I found my Uke to be easy to play and a lot of fun. The carry case is very simple but does the job. All is all I am satisfied. My kids also like the Uke and I am going to buy them a Tenor model for Christmas.

Well made with geared tuners

By D.Edwards

from Chandler, Texas

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

well made, solid neck to body joint. Does not stay in tune with the strings that come with it, Aquila or Martin both work well. Don't try to soprano tune with baritone strings. The tightness of the strings will bow the neck and will result in playing difficulties (high action).Excellent for the money.

marvelous little uke

By J. Randel Dancing

from new mexico

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

I was surprised by the quality of the instrument when it arrived. The price gave me lowered expectations that were delightfully expelled by the fit and finish. I had to re-tune twice in the first couple of days and I thought that that was a problem, but happily after the first few days it settled in and has held it's tuning quite well . It is a marvelous little instrument well worth far more than what it costs.

Pogue Baritone UKE

By Bob Meadows

from Bedford, VA

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

I am pleasantly suprised by the qualiy of worksmanship in my new Uke. The tone is rich and mellow, as it should be. Delivery was amazingly fast and packaging was more than adequate. I recommend this instrument to any beginning Uke players and it is quite satisfactory for private party and home entertainment. The gig bag which comes with it is sturdy also.

Unbelievable - great sound, great price.

Comments about Rogue Baritone Ukulele:

I bought 40 of these for my brand-new school ukulele program, and I was 100% pleased with the look, the feel, and the sound of these wonderful baritone ukuleles. For the price, they are unbeatable. The leather case is nice and durable as well.
