Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:
Try these TI EB344's ONCE and you'll probably be hooked. Every player is different, so of course your mileage may vary since we all play different music on different brand instruments. I've never found a better string for me and I've got no reason to even try another set. Great feel, medium-low tension, rich tone with lots of highs when you want them, lively sustain, great string to string balance and durability beyond any other string I've ever used. I keep this set loaded on three basses. This is the ONLY round I use. I prefer the EB344 set to the TI JF344 Jazz Flats which I also use on my active bass. I have a set of EB344's that was on my number one for over two years and is now on my daily home practice bass for over a year and sounds fine to this day! I've been using this set for over three years total! A very durable string. I've actually tried to break them but cant! Any tonal degradation is so gradual and minor that you really can not detect it. Compared to other strings that seem to go dead overnight, these are the longevity champ, so despite the higher up front cost in the long run they are also your best buy on a roundwound. I recommend them to everyone tired of buying new strings every month or two. The higher output level from these really bring out the best in a passive bass. Maybe not the first choice for slap style bassists due the medium low tension, but still worth a look.
