sperzel trim lok
Comments about Sperzel 6 In-Line Locking Tuners:
Trim-Lok. This is the ultimate in tuning keys. The locking feature eliminates the need for multiple string wraps, and tremolo users no longer need a locking nut that deadens string sustain and all annoying Allen screws and wrenches (added weight). Tired of tying strings? This is the answer. This model is proven to hold strings tightly, allowing the guitar to stay in tune to improve playing enjoyment. The Trim-Lok is a mechanical type locking system that can be used on ANY guitar, including non-tremolo or acoustic. This product is for in-line Fender guitar headstock

you can do better, a LOT better
Comments about Sperzel 6 In-Line Locking Tuners:
Poor design, IMO. I hate almost everything about them, except the price and looks. First, they're not drop-in replacements so expect to fill and drill holes. The clamping design is such that it will snap your string if you loosen your string all the way to, for instance, lube the nut. The machines are sloppy so tuning is not very precise. These are the worst tuning keys I've ever used, period. Do yourself a favor and buy Gotoh locking tuners if you have a Les Paul. They look like factory originals and work like a charm!

Sperzel tuners
Comments about Sperzel 6 In-Line Locking Tuners:
I have been using Sperzel tuners for a few years now, ever since I bought a guitar that came with them installed. They impressed me enough to use them on some other guitars. While they are high quality tuners that keep you in tune and keep their polished shine (I've never had a set lose the finish-they look as good as the day I bought them) the feature I like best about them is that you can take out the screw and flip them to the other side if you need to make a 3x3 set or if you have a left-handed headstock, which is how I learned you could do that ! I'm not sure if any other tuner has that ability. Of course, you can buy a left-handed set or 3x3 set too but the versatility means you never have to worry if you want to put them on another guitar that has a different tuner configuration. I have the Sperzels in gold, satin chrome and polished chrome so I know first hand that their quality is high as I've never had one go bad. I wouldn't hesitate to get black if I ever need them but that's the only color I don't own. Other tuners are really good but I feel that Sperzel makes the best ones and they haven't turned to overseas manufacturing--still made in Germany so it's like putting BMW's or Mercedes on your headstock. The thumbscrew makes it simple to lock the string in place without multiple wraps and I much prefer them to a more time consuming and complicated system like Floyd Rose's etc.
