Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

This is a good-looking and sturdy case. The handle is well-padded and makes the case easy to cary. The green interior lining is beautiful and appears sturdy. I will be pleased to give this case as a gift--along with the separately bought dreadnought guitar it holds perfectly.

    Fantastic case

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

I bought one of these in a different shape for my Epophone Dot and liked it so much that I bought this one for my new Fender CD160SE 12 String (reviewed separately). It fits like it was custom made for it. The case is solidly built with good quality latches and a flawless interior. The case is good enough that I would be comfortable checking it on an airline (scary thought) and still expect to be able to use the instrument again! That is saying a lot - those of you tho travel know what I mean. If you need a great hard case, I don't see any way to beat either of the Silver Creek cases I have purchased.

Great case at a great price.

    By Edward Berg

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

I ordered the Gieb-style Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Arch top case to replace the beat up (and heavy...very heavy) 14 year old monstrosity that came with my '78 Hohner HG-320. This case has far exceeded my expectations. While during my research this case garnered many positive reviews, most however also stated that this case was not quite up to the standards of a TKL Gieb-style case. So imagine my pleasant surprise when I opened the box, removed the plastic wrap and found a vintage style case that, in my opinion is more than equal to the $200-$300+ Gieb-style cases CF Martin reserves for their most precious guitars. The build quality on my case is exceptional. There was no give in the wood top and absolutely no noxious glue smell. All gold colored hardware was solid and of more than sufficient quality: no cheap feel here. The locking clasp works flawlessly and when I inserted the key, it turned flawlessly and provides sufficient deterrence against the curious hands of my 7 year old son. The case interior is well padded, not quite as padded as the TLK Gieb-style cases but better padded than most cases far more expensive than what I paid for this one. If I have any criticism (and this is seriously a MINOR criticism) it would be that the crushed velvet lining feels a little "crunchy" in other words it is not as soft as I had expected. But this is due more to my expectation than the actual quality of the case. If my case accurately resents the overall quality of Silver Creek Vintage Arch top cases (and I have no reason to believe otherwise) than I strongly recommend this case to anyone in the market for a high quality guitar case and at a very reasonable price to boot.

    GOOD QUALITY, PRICED RIGHT!

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

If you are looking for a good quality case that is easy on the wallet, this is your baby. The case is definitely sturdy enough to protect your investment. Heck, it looks pretty nice too! The green lining grabs you by the boo-boo and looks good with your acousta-ax! I have two different dreadnought-sized guitars, one thicker then the other and one with a cutaway body, the case fits both guitars well. Yeah, it's not top of the line, but hey, you are only paying $70! Cheers!

Good budget case, not airline proof tho

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

The good: The price is right. It has an arch top, for better top protection than the flat top cases. It has six latches like the good TKL and Geib style cases. A standard dreadnought fits snugly in it. It has dual neck supports. It is light. The bad: It appears to be at best made up of three thin plys of wood. Not nearly as sturdy as a real Geib style case. The exterior tolex also appears thin and doesn't appear to be too durable. The hinges and latches are somewhat lightweight. I was trying to find a better looking, and perhaps tougher, case for my Martin. This ain't it. The thermoplastic case that came with the Martin is more durable than this one. Still, this case is a whole lot better than a chipboard case or a gig bag. Did I mention that the price is right? Just the thing for carting my Silver Creek guitars around to local jams.

    Great Case

    By JonFields45

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

I now have the dreadnought and OM sized versions of this case. Build quality and hardware is very close to a TKL/Martin-Gieb. Must be made with a lighter wood since it seems lighter than a Gieb, which is a plus as far as I'm concerned (the thickness of the wood seems the same as a Gieb). Both of my cases appear to be re-labelled Guardian Vintage cases.

Great case at a great price!

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

A good friend of mine plays Martin guitars, and had a case that looks a lot like this. No it's not 100% identical, but to me it's well buit enough. My 30 yr old ( new to me) Harmony Dreadnought fit perfectly. Very well padded, and more than enough room for my tuner, my guitar strap and possibly a few more accessories. I do wonder if 6 latches were necessary, seems to me 4 would be more than enough.

    silver creek dreadnought case

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

Great case for the money, I have compared this case to Martin Geib case the deminsions are very close the only differnce that I can find is in the wood used ,The Martin case open with out a guitar is stiffer with little give the silver creek case seems to be of the same construction as the standard Martin and TKL wood case that sell for around 100 Dollars .I was told the wood is plywood by the salesman but cannot find printeded documentation. Some of the cheap case are made of patical board .I hope this is helpful information. This is a lot of case for the money I purchased two.
