More vintage with less distortion.

The SH14 Custom 5 Humbucker Pickup was developed by visitors to the Seymour Duncan web user group who replaced the ceramic or Alnico 2 magnet in an SH-5 Custom or SH-11 Custom Custom pickups with an Alnico 5. Compared to the SH-5 and SH-11, the Custom 5's tone is more vintage, with less distortion, but it's still very strong and powerful. Clean sounds are rich and full with enhanced presence. Comes with four-conductor hookup cable. Like a higher output '59 Model with a deeper bottom end and expanded output. Perfect for pop, country, blues, classic rock and heavy rock. For balanced and warm instruments. Works especially well with rosewood fingerboards.

A wonderful addition for any seeking vintage tone.

Comments about Seymour Duncan SH-14 Custom 5 Humbucker Pickup:

I recently bought the Seymour Duncan SH-14 and installed it in the neck position of my Ibanez RG series, and couldn't believe my ears. This humbucker preserves the natural sound of the guitar and also adds a vintage tone to both the clean and distorted channels with amazing ease. If you want the ultimate pick-me-up for your tone without breaking the bank, this pickup is essential to you. I mainly play metal, but have used this pickup for blues, jazz, and even surf-a-billy, and it still gives me the vintage tone in each that I so desire. A very versatile pickup, and well worth the price.

Tone you can tailor to your needs!

Comments about Seymour Duncan SH-14 Custom 5 Humbucker Pickup:

I have an Epiphone LP and tried everything in it to make it sound "Pro." I tried Gibson 490 and 498s, Bill Lawrence, DiMarzio, among others. This SD in the first ones I've kept in. They rock big! I've even managed to get a Les Brown and B B King sound. I do switch between my Polytone, Vox and Mesa Boogie to get these sounds, but these SD Custom Vs are the only ones that can hang with the many styles I throw at it. I've even gotten good acoustic sounds out of them!
