Comments about Seiko DM50L Metronome:
Needed a small, simple digital metronome w/ flashing light that could be set to any bpm. Not just the 4-6 bpm increments found in rotary dial units. As a worship drummer playing different drum set ups at various churches, I wanted a unit that would preferably attach to a stand w/ a built in clip. This fit the bill.
High pitched beep is fairly loud and adjustable though probably not enough for loud venues. No earphone jack, but not expected. Don't want the beep to be heard on stage so I use it in silent mode.
Not a quartz unit: Accuracy rate of +/- 3% is less accurate than I would prefer. ie: At 100 bpm setting, bpm could actually be anywhere from 97 to 103 bpm. What's the point of digital with that much potential variation? Still, I think the pros outweigh this drawback and think it should work nicely for me. Have only used it a few times so far, so long term quality/dependability unknown.
